does anyone have experience with the kits from there without barrels? im looking for some input, im thinking about building my first ak. also what would be a decent barrel? i pry wont be shooting it alot, im just looking for something to mess around with.
They are well used kits , mine was a 1970, apex has virgin Romanian barrelles for 110.00.
If it is your first build you may want to go with Atlantic's barreled
Kit to get your feet wet on the first build. It can be pretty frustrating to try and press and pin all the parts to the new barrel.
Not trying to discourage you it's just that there will be extra time and expense involved and some builders will get frustrated with it.
