I polished up a trigger group with Nevr-Dull bout a week ago. Everything was nice and smooth. I checked out the internals tonight and found some white, powdery, residue on every part of the FCG I polished
What is this? Is it harmful to the FCG? How should I go about cleaning this?
Thanks!
Sounds like anthrax...
Actually the white powder is most likely a combination of residue from Nevr-Dull and some oxide. Not being familiar with Nevr-Dull I could be wrong, but what most polishing compounds do is react with the metal oxide (which is the non-shiny part of metal) leaving just the metal. While the chemical reacts best with oxides it will still react with the metal. Good idea would be to clean after polishing and oil/lube. I hope this helps a little.

I use Flitz paste in the tube and never had a problem.
It just is dried residue from the wool, you just wipe it off it will be fine. Being in the army for 9 years I have had plenty of experience with never dull
