Yugo Parts Kit, First time build, Lots of questions
I have ordered a YUGO AK 47 parts kit for my first attempt at building an AK. I was told that I have to use a milled receiver for this kit. Is that really necessary? What about a stamped receiver? I have searched for milled and they are all over $289 and on back order until after April 2012 or all sold out. I think stamped receivers are easier to get right? What types of tool will I need? I have built a few AR15s in the past so I have tools from that but I don't have a press for the AK barrel. I also don't have a rivet tool. Is there anything else that I would need?
Where could I find step by step instructions on what needs to be done first to start the build? Thanks for your help guys.
Here is a thread that I started about my milled build.

What kind of kit is it M70 or M64? If it is a 64 apex has cut up receivers that you could try rewelding.
I did see your post and your work looks great! I just don't know how to weld. I'm not sure if I got in over my head with this one. It is a Yugo M70 kit. AR-15s are much easier than the AKs It seems there is a lot of drilling to do also. I think I am going to keep reading as much as I can before I do anything with it.
Not a slam WolfCobra, but how much research (on here and elsewhere) did you do before ordering this kit?
If you decide that milled isn't for you let me know. I might be interested in buying it from you.
Check out AKbuilder.com for the tools necessary for a stamped kit. They would have everything you need.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Turbothis. I have seen many photos of his work. All top notch from what I saw.
KER-POW I didn't really do much research I bought it on an impulse figured I would worry about the other stuff later. I had always thought about building an AK and did some research but not excessive. But thanks IRCPDMESELF for your information I will look into your suggestions.
