So I am building a new AK with a Yugo (I think) underfolder stock and rear trunnion, and a romy G parts kit. Can I use either the NDS-1P or the NDS-4?

You definitely don't want the NDS-4 if all the parts are Romanian except for the folding stock.

What country is your rear trunion from? If you've got a Yugo rear trunion from an M70, then it's going to be too narrow for a standard 1.0mm receiver that the Romanian parts need. The Yugo M70 uses a 1.5mm receiver which is narrower inside the receiver than a standard 1.0mm receiver. If the rear trunion is Polish, Bulgarian or Hungarian then the NDS-1P is what you want.

The Yugo trunions are thinner than your regular AK trunions and require a thicker reciever that just about all other AKs. Also the front trunion on a Yugo has raised sections that are not found on most other AKs as well. There are some Yugos without these raised parts, but they are not common....When you order it from NDS, be sure to tell them what you are going to build and thy will tell you which receiver is correct.

you can shim the trunnion and it will work perfectly, some don't shim at all.I just hit a couple of mine with the mig and ground the spots down but you can use a thin piece of material on each side to make up the .5MM,that is point 5MM,not 5MM..best to do it with a regular receiver with no holes.

Does anyone have the measurements of the yugo vs polish/etc trunnion? I bought it used, and have no clue what kind it is. It came with am extension/adapter block to add the folder on the end of a stamped receiver, and instruction for a Chinese down folding stock. The stock also came with a regularl internal rear trunnion. The adapter block is marked MJTAAG, and the parts bag with some roll pins and a 2 spacers (?) and marked A228.

Edit: The trunnion is 30mm across outside to outside.
