Hello,
Check out this set-up from Dewey. This will be for my cleaning at home.
Dewey
Seems to cover most of the bases. I was thinking about piecing something together but this just about covers it.
Recommendations?
Thanks,
Tony
Seems like it has everything you would need; I can tell you right now that that chamber mop is going to get used up REALLY FAST and to be honest its expensive. all you really need is
this ,
some of these and an old t-shirt you don't need anymore to wipe the parts off and one of
these will be invaluable.
Really the name of the game in getting your AR clean is to remove the carbon from the inside. Think that there is a set amount of carbon in there and you have to get it onto something else in your cleaning kit to bring it out of the weapon. And believe me THERE WILL BE ALOT OF CARBON. So don't get too caught up on buying expensive gear. Buy cheap scrub often!
I'm not a big fan of Dewey rods, having bent them before. I really prefer Tipton.

I ordered the tipton rod, and then a replacement tipton rod. Ended up sending that one back too. Both tiptons had a dramatic curve to them. Ended up with the gunslick rod... straight as an arrow!
That seems very expensive for what is in the kit. 100 bucks no lube or solvent either. Just my opinion. Not much of a value there.
$100 bucks is expensive for sure. I've seen better for 1/2 that.
