tight takedown pin
So I got my PSA complete upper today. When I attached it to my PSA lower, of course the front takedown pin went in fine. But when I pushed in the rear pin I could only push it in 2/3 of the way by hand.
I had to tap it in the rest of the way with a small piece of wood 2x2. From what I've read that should push in all the way by hand, correct? If so, can the hole in the attachment point on the upper be lightly
filed out little by little to allow proper pin installation? Any help appreciated for a rookie.
Don't file anything. Sometimes they're are just tight when new. It will most likely loosen up with use and time.
Try pressing/squeezing the upper and lower together when pushing in the rear pin. That might make it easier to push in until it loosens up.
Usually, when you have to resort to filing parts, you file the cheap, replaceable parts. In this case, the pin, not the receiver. However, I would advise against filing anything. It's either a matter of alignment, as mentioned above, or just new parts with tight tolerances. If it doesn't get better, can always try a new pin.

Fixed it for you.
Lube the takedown pin lightly, work it and let it wear in before attempting any filing.

This is good Info. I re-lube my pins every once and awhile while cleaning to ensure they work properly.
If a tap set it in, leave it be. It will loosen up over time, as the hardcoat anodization wears a bit. If you start filing, you will end up with a wobbly upper.
