 B.A.D. Lever Fitting Problem

I just bought a Bad lever for my New S&W M&P 15 Magpul edition and when I installed the bad lever pulled back the charging handle it will catch and stay open. After looking things over I found the problem, The S&W M&P 15 Magpul edition lower has extra metal were the Bad Lever comes straight down and is not allowing the bolt release to fully open and hold the bolt open. The Magpul lower has extra metal on both sides of the Magpul lower, so the side were the mag. release button is has the same as the side with the bolt release and the Bad Lever does not stick out at all on the magazine button side of the lower. I'll attach a pick from S&W site, hope it shows if not I can take pics of mine and send them.

Click link then click on pic of lower and you will see the extra metal I'm refering to that is interfering with the Bad Lever, The extra metal is on both sides of the lower at the same place.

I just wanted to see if anyone on here has made a B.A.D. Lever fit a S&W M&P 15 Magpul Edition? Or if anyone has suggestions as to how I could get the B.A.D Lever to work. I was thinking about heating up the bad B.A.D. Lever and making 2 bends, first bend where the lever contacts the finger shelve on the left side of the lower and second bend at the factory lower bend to bring up the lever so it will not be hangging down so far after making the first bend.

What do you all think? What are my options?

I emailed Magpul this same message as above and they responded back to me with this.

Thank you for contacting us. The BAD leaver is designed to work with standard Mil-spec lowers. With some forged and billet lowers, lowers with ambi controls, polymer lowers, as well as AR-10/ SR25/M110 rifles are not compatible with the BAD leaver. With that the Magpul spec M&P 15 lower that comes from S&W because of the finger shelves the BAD leaver is not compatible that at this time we don't have a BAD leaver that will work with that lower. Being the BAD lever is aluminum you could break it if you try to bend it your fit your weapon including the S&W Magpul Spec Series™ lowers.

Update: I gave it a shot and heated up the BAD Lever and made 2 bends in it. Got it bolted back on and it's real close, but clears the finger shelve and allows the bolt catch to fully open and hold the bolt back. You would think it being a Magpul edition S&W M&P that Magpul would have designed a BAD lever to fit the Magpul edition M&P.
