Tango Down Battle grip won't fit properly on my Colt 6920
I know how most people complain about the backside of the TD grip covering their receiver but, I'm having the opposite problem. There's actually about .5-1 cm open gap between the grip and reciever. I've installed and uninstalled it so many times I don't know if it's even feasible to get it installed correctly. Should I keep at it, toss it, buy another, or buy something else?
Pix would help.
To generate a gap that large, it sounds like the grip is not fitting/slipping over the boss on the receiver and seating properly. If so you might have to enlarge the inside of the grip a bit. If I am making a correct assessment of your problem, there should be witness marks on the grip where it is hitting the receiver.
HTH.
You're right. I test bedded the grip and held it on as tight as I could and I can still see the gap in the back. It's going to need to be filed a bit. $30 for a grip that needs modifying is ridiculous. Thanks for the input.
It happens...design+manufacturing tolerancesX2.
My cheap CAA grip fit my Colt like it was made for it. It is ok for me, because I am only tier 3 these days.
its the white blood cells in the 6920 rejecting the transplant.
