geez, my crown is black, and I cant figure out a way to scrub the carbon off safely, why is yours so clean?
Is it new?

And yeah it just looks like a lube of some kind, if it is new it could be whatever the manufacturer uses

its new thats why its so clean, been super busy at work and home for the holidays and havent had a chance to go shooting

That's cosmoline (or whatever rust preventative they used).

It you not using a chamber brush by hand to clean the weapon/weapon when you first got it/before it gets shot, to remove all the storage grease/lube/building debris that find it way into the rifle.


And not to panic you, its a tad of parkerizing fluid that made it past the chamber plug (didn't bond to anything), and will clean right off the chrome plating when you give that chamber bush it's madam voyage as well.

pretty sure that's gravy. try dipping your muzzle in a bowl of mashed potatoes, see if that helps.
