I just got a Magpul PRS stock for my AR-10. I ordered the buffer tube and spring directly from Armalite and installed the stock and took it outside to shoot today. When I shoot all I hear is the spring making a splash sound on every shot. Is this normal...I mean there's not but so much you can screw up in this process???

I'd take it apart and inspect it. I have a PRS on my 10 and no such sound.

I do hear the spring in mine. It's not crazy but I can tell it's there.

Just curious why you ordered a new buffer tube and spring.

You should not have to change either to install the PRS.

You should have to do nothing at all to either.

Unless he swapped over from a carbine. And then he would need a new buffer also.

Maybe this is what happened and he didn't change the buffer as well.

That might account for the noise he is hearing.

Ironic since I am experimenting with getting rid of PRS stocks and going back to A2 but with an adjustable buttplate.

With the PRS being straight on the bottom, it's hard when using bags to adjust your elevation unless you have a monopod.
