I want to replace my AR-10A2 stainless Barrel with a like barrel minus the muzzle brake.

I will also probably install a float tube under the handguard like the AR-15NM's.

Has anyone had any luck with after market stnls barrels and suppliers ?

Does the float tube help barrel deflection from the sling as it does for the AR-15?

Please advise

I had George Gardner with GA Precision mount a 22" Mike Rock 5R barrel on mine with a Knights SR25 RAS. It frequently shoots 1/2" groups and less at 100yds with handloads and I have personally shot it on steel sillouhettes out to 975yds. So there are some outstanding aftermarket barrels and smiths who will mount them. As for the free float tube. While I have never done a side by side comparison of a free floated vs. non-free floated rifle, having a free float tube certainly doesnt hurt anything.

Another option for AR10 barrels is JP Enterprises. On par with the stuff from GA in my experience (have a 50BMG from GA and an AR10 from JP). My 223 from JP shoots quarter-MOA, my AR10 about 0.6MOA.

Looks like the bases are covered. You may also try Jeff Hicks at HD Rifle. I believe he may start doing some AR10 work.
