PSA mag catch won't fit Seekens Lower

Ok, I've been hunting threads and most of what I get is bitchin.
First build and I've got a new Seekins lower and PSA lower kit. The mag release button won't fit into the hole at all.
Since the lower is more expensive, I decided to sand away on the button till it fits.
My questions are,
is this normal or is there a better way?
do you leave the button with bare aluminum peaking out of the corners or do you paint it?
paint it with what?
I'm ok with making things fit, that's why it's called a build instead of an assemble, but I"m just trying to figure how to do it more better, or more bestest.
Thanks,
P.

Do you have access to a caliper or some other way of accurately measuring the size of the mag release button hole?

I've got some calipers, but was just trying to do it by fitting. It looks like its the corners that don't fit so well, not so much the length and width.
Radius of the ends I guess. Not something I can measure.

You should not have to sand the button at all. I just received my receiver (SN 05XXX) and dropped the mag release button in with no problems (core15 LPK, probably made by CMMG).

Definitely possible the lower is out of spec. Try another mag release button just to make sure you didn't get an odd ball though.

I don't know if you can see the pics, but the button hole in the lower was .490 and the button was .503 before sanding.
After sanding fits flush.

Edit, ok, I don't know how to add pics.
OK, I'm getting there.

Jeepers, that was hard.
Ok, I got pics up and got the button to fit.

NOW, do I paint it or just let it be?

Just order you a Seekins Billet Mag Button and replace. If not go to Industry Section and post up in Seekins Section and Mr Seekins his self will respond.

Ok, I don't know how to get pics to show
BUT I got the button to fit flush.

I don't have a pile of buttons to try, I have to make what I do have work.

Maybe one day I'll have a pile of lowers and a pile of buttons to just pick and choose from, but for now, I have to make what shows up on the front porch work.
I guess I'll just make do with a little aluminum showing through at the corners and move on to the next problem.
I do love this forum though.
there is a lot of great info here.
Later,
P.

My psa kit worked great in my seekins lower. Everything was smooth going together.

I hate to be inept, but I can't find the Industry Section/ Seekins Sections. Anybody care to give a link.
It sucks to be this way, but there it is.
thanks.

This lower is a 34xx and the hole measures .490. I checked my other one, a 49xx and it's button hole is .510. The print shows the button hole is .515.
Shot the sanded button with some BBQ black and it's g2g.

I also have the same issue here, Just got my seekins SP15 lower in and a PSA LPK. mag release button is too tight, the button is rubbing on the top and bottom of the receiver. going to pull one off another rifle and see if its the button

Just pulled out a mag release button on two other AR-15's one colt pre-ban and one PSA lower. Both buttons are too tight on the seekins, and i also tried the PSA LPK button in them as well and it fits fine. seems to be the lower. Ill see if a buddy of mine can measure the mag release hole tomorrow

my seekins serial is 039xx

I posted about this on the above linked industry and Mr. Seekins said to send it back and he'd fix it.
Since this is my first, I'm too impatient to ship it off just yet. I want to drive it. And shipping lowers is more hassle than sanding the button IMHO.
We'll see.

Lower Print
If I read the print right, the hole is 0.515, but the other lower that the button did fit measured 0.510.
