 Pistol grip tongue

On certain grips like the Magpul MOE, there's a tongue (I don't know what else to call it) that extends back to support your hand.

Some other grips don't offer this feature. Now I was wondering if there's a substitute for it that I can attach to the lower receiver, or clamp in between the lower receiver and the grip that would serve the same purpose.

Yes! I wasn't too sure what to call it.

I don't think I've ever seen one separate from the grip. But I know pretty much every manufacturer makes a grip that has one molded in.

Backstrap.
Don't try to add it....just get a grip that features a backstrap.
The new BCM grips are worth a look.

I'm looking for an add-on beavertail /backstrap because some grip types don't offer them like the moe-k and the 1911 grip.

Since I suppose those don't exist, I'll see if I can make myself one, and have it clamp between the grip and the lower receiver.

Guess I'm kind of confused maybe, but why would you go through all the trouble of cobbling one up when it is such a common feature on so many readily available grips out there? Surely you can find one that you like...
