PSA or Spikes

I am in the middle of a build and have a decision to make. Should i continue to wait for a stripped Spikes Blem lower or get a PSA Lower thats in stock now? It will be matched with a spikes upper. I still have to purchase a barrel, BCG, BUIS, and a Charging handle so i guess i have time.

I have a spikes and love it

with that said, a lower is a lower... so pick a roll mark you like and assemble.

there are many, many threads that ask these questions.

PSA Lower thats in stock now

I've only slapped PSA on PSA, but from others I know who buy up lowers like I buy diesel... they seem to fit pretty well to all brands. But, that's not from experience.

If it were me; I'd keep it all the same. That's just my opinion. Don't think you could go wrong.

Is there an eta for a spikes stripped blem lower?

I have a Spike's lower that I waited a little bit to get. Goes well with the Spike's Upper I decided on. I just really liked the spider roll-mark.

Like others have said though, a lower is a lower essentially all are the same, outside of some Billet lowers. Up to you if you can wait or not!

You can't go wrong with either. Personally I don't like the Spider logo. There was a thread awhile back that called it "dueling dicks" and I have not been able to look at that roll mark now and not think about that.

If I wanted a Spike's I'd spend the cash and get a Calico Jack lower. I don't own a Spike's but know people who do and have had no issues with them.

I have used MANY PSA lowers and they have been good to go. I prefer the "Safe/Fire" mark with the LW serial number as the magwell has been more flared. The picto lowers are fine, but the front of the magwell is not as tapered.

I just got a PSA striped lower last week. Very nice fit and finish. Took a week to get to the sticks of Montana.

If you want to match a Spike's upper and a Spike's lower then I'd go with Spike's. I say that primarily for matching color. I've bought a Model 1 Sales upper and a Spike's lower and the colors don't match if you care about that sort of thing.

You can always buy stripped lower elsewhere give or take $10-$20. You might as well wait for what you want.

I know its really frustrating waiting for parts to build a rifle.
But I would wait.

After the ass haterry that tom from spikes pulled in a psa new products thread, I will never buy a spikes product again. If that's the level they need to stoop to, they keep their products.

Spike's made 4 posts on that topic and merely asked a question. Quite probably a legitimate question for all I know. There was no answer to that question. Does that mean that all people should boycott Spike's products?

But, I've had good customer service from HK too.

Really? PSA doesn't have to prove anything to Spikes, though they did and shut Tom up. Notice he no longer felt the need to post after his bluff was called? According to others its not the first time he's done this sort of thing. Just find the thread where PSA unveils their 300 blackout upper. He's trying to call them out and it back fired in his face.

The thread itself its not relevant, the need of one industry partner to call out another industry partner over the listed specs of their parts is relevant. It shows how they do conduct themselves against a competitor that is producing a similar if not identical product and its taking their market share away because they can deliver parts in Weeks and not months.

Looks to me you are trying to stir more shit up than the industry partners themselves. Get over it

There WAS an answer to that question, PSA posted a picture of their proof rounds that were supposedly "impossible to have." Spikes put their foot in their mouths and violated forum rules to do so. Unprofessional and I will be cancelling my order for an upper from them and going PSA.

Comments that do not involve firearms should be reserves for gd, please stop the comments about the appearance of rollmarks, one company was mean to the other etc.

why wait for a 2nd if you can get a first run for a similar price without waiting? Seems pretty easy to me.

As far a "matching" as others have said, an aluminum forearm maybe a different shade then the upper, the barrel a different color then either. Then even within the same company you can variance with stock and grips due to dye lots, etc.

If matching color is that big of a deal then once you get everything you want and are happy, refinish the entire thing, then it will match.

Also though all the parts maybe from 1 company, it isn't a factory built gun, you are putting it together and that often does impact the price if you sell it. Often a factory built whatever goes for more than what an individual put together on their own.

I feel you pain PMA. I'm on the other side. I have 3 Spikes lowers but ZERO Spikes Uppers. I also want to match. With all the Obama run on guns... I figured I join them.
