What parts do I need to put a Magpul PRS stock on?
I have an AR that currently has a carbine stock on it.
I bought a Magpul PRS stock that I want to install.
I have it, a rifle lenght buffer, and a rifle lenght spring.
I have a DPMS Receiver Extension Buffer Tube that I'm going to order from Midway.
One of the reviewers said this about that tube "However, don't forget to buy the tube screw to hold the stock on. Neither the tube, nor the MagPul stock I purchased had the dang screw" That review is from 2008. There is a stock screw that came with the PRS - is that all I need?
Also, another reviewer said "Great quality and finish. This product is not mil spec so if you have a mil spec buttstock then you need a buttstock spacer PN: 482619 and the appropriate screw long or short." Is that what you need to install an A2 stock on this buffer tube? If so, do I need it, or is the PRS an A1 lenght stock?
Thanks,
Sounds like you have all you need. You have rifle spring, buffer, and rifle buffer tube on order. That is all i needed to get when I installed mine. Just used the included screw to attach it
Reread your post and I am not sure about extension tube you are ordering. I ordered an a2 buffer tube when installing mine
Receiver extension is the proper term over buffer tube. It's the same piece though.
Make sure you use the vented screw that comes with the stock.
