Anybody ever built a lower with the CMMG LPK? Just wondering how's the finish and quality of it. It's only $56.95 shipped on aimsurplus. I am deciding either the CMMG, or the Armalite LPK which is almost $20 more expensive... Not really sure if it's worth the extra.

I would recommend a RRA lpk from here. I have no experience with the CMMG lpk's, but there have a been a 2-3 posts about missing parts. RRA is top quality and only a few $$'s more.

In the past CMMG as been just as good as the rest. But there was something here about the roll pins. Can some one help I can't seem to think may be the trigger guard pin.

Are you sure those are RRA LPK's?

I want to get a high quality LPK with an in-spec takedown pin. I have STAG kits with oversized pin heads that will not fit in my Nodak Spud lower.

I've used CMMG, RRA and RB Precision lower parts kits.

The CMMG kit uses the standard split type roll pins. They seemed a bit oversized and took persuasion to get them in. The CMMG trigger also seems a bit heavier than the RRA. The finish was fine, although not as well done as the RRA kit. Besides the roll pins and trigger guard, all the CMMG parts fit and function well. CMMG uses the rounded hammer. RRA uses the notched hammer.

RB Precision seemed like a blend of the two. The safety detent was out of spec but they promptly sent a free replacement. Their split roll pins fit better than ones from CMMG. Trigger feel is similar to RRA (the hammer and trigger were identical).

For the money RRA is my favorite. The fit and finish was the best of the group. Everything fell into place with no stress or adjustment needed. The coiled roll pins were much appreciate when it came to ease of assembly.

Those are my experiences for what their worth. CMMG is a solid functional kit. Just watch the trigger guard roll pin...

I just got two LPK's from Legal Transfers. Quality is really good and delivery was very, very fast. I have never had anything but good experiences with everything I have gotten from him.

I just got two of them on Friday. Went together fine I had to take a file to the handguards to open them up to get them to fit on the lower, but resulted in a very good fit.
In looking at the hammer and some on the other parts I would say that they are DPMS. For all you DPMS haters out there, I have several builds with DPMS LPKs in the and they are all running without issue so, to me, it was no big deal.

Well CMMG is not! and if they say they are theirs I know that would be a lie. LPKs come in from some where else. this is a fact and I hope this dose not come across as bashing. I find it hard to beleave that any comp dose their own?
