 Surefire M600C Thumbscrew Mount Question

How durable is the thumbscrew mount that comes with the M600C? Will it hold up to hard use without shooting loose? Should I ditch it for a lever lock mount?

Thanks

Get a lever mount. The thumbsrew likes to comes loose and fall of the weapon while you are using it. I replaced all the thembscrew mounts on my Scout lights for Larue mounts.

While I prefer a Larue mount, my thumb screw mount on my Scout never came loose during a year in Afghanistan. I used a pair of Channel Locks to tighten it. I didn't get crazy, just past finger tight.

They're fine. No need to waste a lot of money on QD mounts.

My thumb screw mount holds up fine as long as I use more than my fingers to tighten it. A quarter will do the trick.

Mine is still holding tight after 2 years and only finger tight.

I used Loctite blue and a screwdriver in the slot––perpendicular to the the nut to snug it up past finger-tight. No danger of it loosening.
