Which sf. And do I need to upgrade the mount???
Ok so I have been looking at surefires since I first started planning my build, this will be my first weapon light and can't decide which model to get. It will be mounted on a m4gery w/ Daniel deffense rail used for home defense, some field navigation while coyote hunting and any other needs for a weapon light I can find.
1. Which light a m300a mini scout or a 600c scout?
2. Does the mount on these lights suck or does everyone just like to upgrade them to something else for the hell of it. I notice almost every manufacture sells a mount for them. Do I need to upgrade off the bat or wait and see if it brakes?
Thanks in advance
Not sure how your house is set up, but for indoor and close range home defense, a light with about 100 lumens will serve you well. However, if you're outside, something with about 200 lumens will be better.
The SF Scout lights are good. The newer 600 puts out 200 lumens, and the 300 mini puts out 110 lumens, but they are kind of expensive. If you're not going to use the pressure switch pad on the Scout light, then I would suggest the SF VTAC L4/mini. And most folks change out the mount to a QD version for convenience, and/or an offset for a better position/placement.
I plan on running a remote switch but thanks for the suggestion. What is the benefit of running a light on a off set mount?
