upgrade my lighting setup: Surefire M951

So I have two fighting rifles, both of which have Surefire M951 lights. I like the robust design of them, but they are dim, heavy, and bulky. So im trying to decide whether i want to upgrade just the bulbs of both, or get two new lighting setups. My main concern is cost. So who makes upgraded bulbs or heads for these? I have searched and found a few, but i dont know which are recommended, and which are inexpensive.
Thanks for the help.

TNVC Makes a replacement head with impressive specs.

I believe you can also get a Malkoff replacement LED module.

If you want to ditch the M951 all together you could get a Scout light (M300 or M600), but those are expensive compared to the other two options.

A cheaper and lighter option is a Surefire G2 with a Malkoff drop in. If you keep your M951, you can put the clicky switch from those onto the G2, and replace the G2's momentary switch.

I did see that TNVC one, but im afraid that that is a bit pricey for me.

I have both M61's and M61 'L' low ouput, and they are awesome units!

How does the low output model compare? Do you find the light more usable?

I have the low output version mounted on a shotgun, and a second one in a G2 for general use. For my rifles, I would probably use the standard M61 for the extra 'throw'... I actually use a Scout with the KX2C head on my rifle, and use the M61 in handhelds...

I find the M61 has a narrower field and more throw, while the M61L has shorter throw and a wider beam... If I thought I was going to use it mainly indoors or in an urban environment, I might consider the low output, but for me I feel the M61 fits my needs better for the rifle...

Check out Lighthound if you have a lower budget and a bunch of outdated lights, like me.

I just upgraded three yesterday from torch to LED.
