Problem with my Daniel Defense QD sling mount

I have this QD mount...
and attached a Larue Sling to it, and every time weight is put onto the mount, the QD swivel pops out, even after pressing really hard.. So I thought it may be that the swivel was slightly different spec than the DD mount. So I tried a Midwest Industries swivel, the same thing.... Finally I bought a swivel from Daniel Defense... same thing. as soon as I let go of the rifle when slung, the weight from the rifle pops out the QD swivel. it doesnt do this on the ejection port side, just the side pictured... there is no visible damage and it was bought new. anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

Have you contacted the dealer you bought it from or Daniel Defense to see about getting a replacement?

yes ive contacted daniel defense yesterday and I am waiting on a reply.
This isn't a DD bashing thread, I love their products and will continue buying, I was just wondering if anyone else was having a problem with their sling mount, and what was done to fix it...

I just bought four of them by DD. Mine seem fine. I'm sure it is a fluke.

Call them. I once sent them an email and did not get a reply until three weeks later. Your part is obviously defective and DD should replce it.

They probably should reimburse you for the swivels you bought trying to find a fix. I know they aren`t cheap.

The ball-bearings of your QD-swivels are supposed to lock into a key-seat cut into the bore.
The key-seat is cut down to deep such that the ball bearing of the QD-swivels cannot lock in and the whole thing pulls out.
That is a machining problem that wasn't caught by Daniel Defense QC department.
They should supply you with a replacement unit immediately plus a little extra for your inconvenience (it is what I would do...take good care of those customers!).
Sounds like DD runs some kind of statistical sample-testing QC model...might need to go some something a little more comprehensive (albeit more expensive).

im sure DD will do what is right. everyone has one pass the qc every now and then.

i was having the same problem with mine... I finally got the push button to fully seat in the up position.
Now i just unclip the strap

I am not allowed to make "permanent" modification to my rifle and I was considering this or a tangodown, please let me know how this turns out with DD. I was seriously about to order one when I read this thread.

DD took care of the problem.. probably just a fluke in production
