 Front rail sling mount position

Quick question for you all. Building out my new rifle currently and trying to decide where I want my forward sling connection. Stock it is all the way forward on the side, and I had no plans to move it, but after looking at hundreds of pictures in the last few weeks and quite a few videos I noticed that the majority had the front sling point all the way back on the rail just in front of receiver. Looks like it works better that way, but to be honest I am switching from a Springfield M1A where I didn't have this issue/choice.

Thoughts or recommendations appreciated......

I was looking around for the same info a couple of days ago. Everything I've read tells me the rifle slings better and hangs better when closer to the receiver. Thats all I can say. The only rifle I have with a sling utilizes the FSB and works ok. I'm ordering an MS3 and will mount my next one farther back to see the difference.
