I've been looking at the different receiver endplate mounts and it looks like I need to go with a side insert QD sling attachment to clear the Magpul ACS stock. I'd like to use the Troy Professional Grade that doesn't require removal of the staked castle nut, but it looks like it might be too thick for the stock to fully close and lock. The Troy OEM M4 Battle Sling mount replaces the endplate, but also looks fairly bulky. Has anyone successfully combined either of these with the ACS? Other options I should consider?
Thanks,
Mike
What sling are you using? If it uses a push button sling swivel, then you could replace your end plate with the Noveske QD end plate.
I haven't actually purchased a sling yet. I want to make sure I have the mounting sorted out. I like the 1/2 point option like the MS3. I don't think the Noveske would work. There isn't much space between the end plate and the ACS. I think the QD hardware would prevent the stock from locking.

Using a Noveske end plate, you would also need a push button sling swivel to clip on the MS3's snap hook. Or, you could wait for Magpul to release the QD version of the MS3. You would definitely be able to fully collapse the stock with this too...do you shoot with the stock fully collapsed?
I do sometimes shoot with the stock fully collapsed, so I think things might get a little close. Which QD swivels are typically the thinnest?
For post #308
I have a rifle with a Noveske end plate and I have a rifle with an ACS. So I pulled them out and did a stock swap to see. The ACS will not lock fully collapsed on an LMT swivel but will on a no name QD from CTD.
Here's the LMT it wouldn't lock up with
Here's the one from CTD that worked
Hope this helps
