Best QD swivel and mount combo for use with MS3?

Which QD mount and QD swivel combination are best for use with the MS3? I'm looking for something other than the ASAP (not sure why but even though I haven't used it I don't like the idea of it). Is an integrated endplate type mount like Noveske's or a detachable mount like MI's adapter better? What type of swivel works best with the MS3? I'm looking at an angular type like GG&G's (which appears to be offered with an endplate similar/identical to Noveske's) but don't know if the connector on the MS3 would get hung up or not.

Sorry if this has been discussed 1000 times before....just not sure what to purchase since there seems to be so many choices.

Thanks for any thoughts,

Mike

Noveske's end plate is designed to accept a QD. The MS3 is designed to "clip" on a ring style mount.

Guess you could clip the Magpul onto a QD, but if thats the case there are better options.

couldnt the MS3 be attached with a QD on a rail? I just ordered a MS# and I am looking for a sling mount also.

Sure it could. Just seems a little redundant, a clip on a qd. Magpul does offer their RSA mount that works well with the MS2 or MS3

I agree about a QD being redundant but I think I will prefer it for rear connection. I'm planning on mounting RSA's on all my rails too for 2-point use. I've read that Magpul will be coming out with a MS3 with QD's but would then need another QD mount for 2-point.

The new snap clips on the MS3 are tough mothers and easy to clip on/off as needed. I wouldn't wait for the QD version when all you really need is a better rear mount (I've never been a big fan of the dangling link on the ASAP either). Check out the M.A.D. Hook Up.

For a receiver end plate connection for your QD I can attest for the Noveske. Great setup for a QD.

You may have to "chase" a QD around a little since it's not a stationary mount but not nearly as elusive as the ASAP.

The I kick hippies mount, (with a little filing of the sharp edges) or as JW recommended, the M.A.D. is another option for a solid loop mount.

You think a standard shaped (oval) or angled QD swivel would work better?

If you're going this route, the Noveske end plate with a standard QD sling swivel will work fine...I've used this setup in the past. My only beefs are that I didn't like chasing the swivel mount around to reconnect one-handed and it seems a bit silly to have two pieces of QD hardware connected to each other.

I have thought about doing the same setup with my rifle and have wondered the same thing. Magpul does a lot of things well, but I don't like the ASAP either. The noveske endplate has a clean look with nothing attached. I wouldn't worry about the redundancy. It does seem a little silly, but it does give the added option of switching out different slings if you ever choose to. Only downside I see is added cost for QD mounts. If you try it out let us know and maybe post pictures.

Looked at GG&G's angled loop. While I could see it's benefits for right handed use on a receiver end plate when you switch the location to a stock mount or to your

weak side shoulder it seems the angle could work against you. The standard QD loop seems to be the ambidextrous solution.

After all my searching I got the Troy industries QD end plate. Love it!

Gear Sector makes a nice front mount that would work well with that MS3 sling. I'm using a Gear Sector QD mount in front and the Troy QD mount at the rear,to mount my padded VTAC sling. Also have an IWC tri-glide.
My ACS stock also has a QD mount,if needed.

I ended up ordering the Troy OEM M4 rear mount (now on backorder through Botach). I was a mouse click from ordering two more for my other carbines, but figured I would try it out and see how I like it first. Do many of you guys use this mount? What do you like about it in comparison to other available options? In some of the online reviews, users had difficulties getting a wrench to fit on the stock nut due to the QD points on this mount. Anything special needed for installation? All I've got is a combination tool like this.

Personally, I detest QD mounts.

They get stuff all tangled up because they can spin (which is nice) but also that spin always seems to twist up my slings.

I'm using the clips that the MS3 came with, on a Magpul rail mount (front), and an old ass double ring mount on the buffer tube.
