Money isnt an issue just a highly recommended vertical grip, and reasons why.

Larue fug, best QD on the market, adaptable in length.

For stubbys the gear sector, perfect length to use as a good solid Handstop.

Tango down QD, variety of colors lengths and solid QD.

Magpul RVG does its job very well, doesn't break the bank and doesn't add a lot of unnecessary weight. No storage in it, but I doubt most use it anyways.

If money is not an issue, than go for a LaRue FUG or a Tangodown QD.

If you don't care about the price, definitely either:
1) Larue FUG (if you want QD or will attach a pressure switch) or
2) Troy Ind. Modular Combat Grip (if you don't want/need QD)

Both of these are convertible to either a full, mid, or short lengths. Both are capable of storage.

The Troy Ind. is aluminum and gives a very positive grip due to its knurled surface and almost certainly stronger than polymer v-grips (no data to back this up, so I'm not going to posit this as an absolute). I believe it weighs < 1oz more than the Larue FUG and <0.5 ounce than the Tango Down.

ETA: Magpul RVG is 2.5oz and is what i would use if I were doing a light-weight build. Gear Sector is also 2.5oz.

Troy Industries vert. grip. Top quality, nice fit, can shorten or lengthen if desired. Can keep tac light and optic batteries inside. Win win imo...

The decision is less about cost and more about your needs and usage of a VFG, but either the LaRue FUG or Magpul's RVG are solid choices to consider.

If you're only using it as an index point, get a hand stop. If you're a fan of the beer can grip, a simple KAC grip would work just fine. Plus you'll be able to detach it with ease and it's cheap.

My current favorite is my LaRue FUG, as other members stated it is three sizes all-in-one, short, medium, and long, also have water resistant storage and QD which is very easy in installation and removal with different weapons.

The outer diameter is about average size compared to my KAC (Knight's Armament) which is small, and my other TangoDown standard size, which have a larger outer diameter.

The QD type of vertical grips are great if you attach it to different guns, with my KAC and TD with standard mounting I have to remove all the rail panels in front of it before I could slide the grip off (and also during installation).

As stated above it all depends on what you're doing with it.

I prefer a handstop these days but I used to be all about the Tango Down, I also rather like the Magpul RVG.

I vote for thr Magpul unit. I have some of the others like the tango down short units in qd and non qd flavor, and also have one of the Troy grips and a KAC. Really, to do it all over again, they'd all be Magpul units. Nice as the others are, they haven't justified their higher cost to me.

I think looks and cost are important for most VFG users. The human hand is very adaptable so I don't think feel is a huge factor. YMMV,though.
I'm using a shorty Tango Down w/QD on my Colt Commando and like it fine. Am thinking of trying a Magpul AFG on my POF,though.

My favorite is the Larue FUG. Pricey but the QD is really nice. The KAC's work well and aren't expensive. I haven't used Magpul's model. I did try the AFG and I didn't care for it. I like to keep the FUG short and use it more like a hand stop.

Even though money isn't an issue, I'd still go with the Magpul RVG. It's very lightweight compared to the other options.

I like the larue fug on 16"ers but the kac VFG feels better to me on 20" rifles.

What are you putting it on? I've had the Tango Down long and stubby QD mad non QD. I've had the LaRue too. I am using MOE hand guards and MOE VFGs now. It is all I need. I don't like the QD it irritates my hand during mt grip. I also don't need a QD. For a rail I would be using a Tango Down stubby. It is perfect for me.
