I hope this is the right section to post this in. I am not trying to be rambo or anything but I have got my AR's I have a few thousand rounds of ammo, a bunch of mags, etc. I got to thinking if the shtf or I actually needed to use all this stuff it might be a good idea to have a vest or some sort of carrier that could hold extra mags, ammo. Not looking to spend a ton on this but was thinking it would be nice to have something like this already loaded up hanging in the closet in case I needed to grab it in a hurry. Any recommendations?
A simple chest rig should do what you want, unless you just want a vest. Should be able to find one less than $100.
A chest rig would be perfect for you, especially if you weren't wanting any type of plate carrier or anything. I have a
Phalanx Type 4 from TAG. They aren't too spendy and they come in several variations.
