Anyone here use Redi-Mags?
I like the idea of this accessory, but am not sure if it's worth the money or not. Do any of you guys use a
Redi-Mag? Which of the three models have you used and do you have a preference?
Thanks for any help!
Mike
I do and have for a while. I am not sure what model it is. I don't think there were 3 when I bought it. I ran it in a Paul Howe tac rifle instructor class and it always performed as designed. Now i have them on my bump in the night gun and truck gun. They are well designed and thought out IMO.
Wow i didnt know they had different models now... i had the cheap one of the 3
I liked it but didnt like how it mounted and it was a pain to take off ... i may get the steel qd one now that i see they have changed it...
I use one and still have it mounted on my patrol rifle and never looked back since the day I installed it. I use the Quick disconnect one, however I never take it off. For me it works great and was fast for reloads in all the classes I took. Don't remember my reload times with it but I do remember that once I got use to it I always had the fastest reload times. but it did take some practice to "dial in" one thing to take into consideration is if you have a malfunction like a double feed and you need to strip the mag and I mean actually strip the mag because it was a true double feed and not a "set up" one for practice you need to do things a little different for when you press the mag release to strip mag out of weapon it releases mag in redi-mag, so I just tap it back into redi mag for if that mag drops to the ground it was kind of pointless to have in first place; go through my malfunction drill; un-jack my weapon and do my reload.
I've got the QD version on my patrol rifle and like it. The new ones won't drop the redi mag magazine when you press the rifle mag release.
I bought one for my Colt when they first came out. It's still on the weapon after all these years because it works..
Been thinking about one for my POF.
BFG has stopped making the Redi-Mod. So there will be no more of those. You should be abel to find the Redi-Mag still.
I use the Redi-Mod on my SBR AR lowers.
Doesn't really handicap the weapon at all.
