I have been through a couple pair of muffs the past two years. They start falling apart after a year. Who make a quality product with awesome hearing protection? Something less bulky would be great.

Howard Leight Impact Sport have worked well for me and held up. They are electronic but the LOF (I Believe) is similar non-electronic for a lot cheaper. Not bulky at all.

I have peltor swat tac & MSA sordin pro x and the sordin blow the peltors away as far sound reduction and hearing voices.

the howard leights are pretty good for the $50 they cost though. it comes down to how much you will use them and how important your hearing is to you.

Stopped in to post the same thing

I have a couple of Peltors (Comtacs and 6S), as well as Howard Leight electronic muffs. My new MSA Sordins are the best I've ever owned by a wide margin. Very comfortable too.

I use the SureFire Sonic Defenders in place of foam ear plugs. I've been very happy with them.

Hey man,
I finally wore out the Peltor 6S that I have used for hunting for years. Looking at the MSA Sordins, Howard Leight, or another Peltor 6S. The 6S worked pretty well with only major CONs that the batteries got damp from perspiration and the earpiece cups coming off too easily. As far as ability to pick up on the DIRECTION a sound came from for hunting deer/turkey/etc, how do the Sordins & Howard Leights compare to the Peltor 6S? I am using a back-up Radians OMNI now; you hear everything quite well but very much harder than 6S as far as picking out the exact direction of sound. NRR 29 Radians OMNI just won't due for me while hunting because of this & they are a bit too loud even on the lowest volume setting.

TIA!

First high-end muffs I have ever owned.

Peltor MT15H7F SV Tactical Pro Hearing Protector

My best friend has had a pair for over a year and swears by them. They are definitely the most comfortable I have ever worn and the noise cancelling is awesome. Now I am never that guy at the range who is yelling to hear himself over his hearing protection when everyone else has removed their muffs or plugs. I hate those dirty looks...

I shoot IDPA and for the last 3 years i have been using Howard Leight Impact Sport Earmuffs . They are great ! I have safe hearing protection and dont need to have people yell at me to talk in between stages lol . Just bought a pair for my father for Christmas and he loves them . Only real complaint is when shooting in REALLY hot weather they get a bit sweaty around the ears , but all earmuffs will .

Heres a link to the earmuffs on MidwayUSA . They have them on sale a few times a year .
