Everyone has their own budget they have to follow. Some can afford EOtech and Aimpoint, other's can't.

I'd like to know what peoples' opinions are of the best value red dot sights per the various price ranges:

$ 0-99

$ 100-199

$ 200-299

$ 300-399

$ 400-599

$ 600-699

$ 700-799

etc.

On the cheap end it is hard to beat Primary Arms' red dots

After that, used Eotexhs and aimpoints

New Aimpoint Pro and Eotechs

New Aimpoints

I'm rockin' a Leatherwood Hi-Lux 30mm red dot (ES1X30TP).

$70 on ebay.

Surprisingly very good for the price.

The ones I've used:

EOtech 517 - I traded for mine, but I think it costs around $450. I'm sure there are good deals out there though. Flawless operation for me and I like having it run on AA batts.

Vortex Strikefire - around $150 No complaints. Has held zero and I like the 2x removable lens. Looking back I probably would have saved this money to help fund a new barrel.

Bushnell TRS-25 - looks like it costs around $90, but I think I got mine for cheaper a while ago. I've only used it on a 10/22, but I doubt there would be any problems on an AR. It has an integral mount so you'd have to get a riser to mount it to an AR.

Primary Arms M3 clone - around $70 Probably the best budget option. Has held zero fine and I've sort of tried to break it, but no success yet. I had problems with the screws on the (free) mounting ring included, but I have a Burris 30mm xtra-high ring now anyways.

Just installed and sighted in yesterday. Good stuff up to 50 yrds, the 2x removable lens is great for the 75 to 125 yard

I just got my T1 today. Probably the best RDS out there regardless of price range.

The damn thing only weighs 4 ounces with the mount, you can leave it on for 5 years, its water proof, NVG compatible, dogproof, shockproof, freeze proof...

i was happy to snag an Eotech 512 for $350.00 at a local gun show NIB < think the guy wanted $400.00 for it at first.

also snagged a used Eotech 511 for $300.00 with shipping included from just searching on the internet < they seem to still go for a bit more on ebay i dont know why ? i only bought it because ebay biddings were still going over 330.00 plus shipping.

You had me going on the dogproof. My mutt eats everything. At least when she's running away from me I'll be able to follow her.
