Special request: TA11 reticle pics, but with a twist.....

Does anyone have pics through their TA11 ACOGs, at various distances? Specifically, at 100, 300, and 500 yard targets? The type of reticle does not matter.

Just trying to judge if the 3.5x is enough magnification for me at various distances, for somewhat precise shooting. It's either this, or sell my body parts for the 1.5-6x Elcan....... I would rather spend that kind of $$ on night vision gear.

Here's to hoping someone has pics!

I have two acogs, a TA31rcoA4 and a TA11 with red donut reticle....

The TA11 in question is really good at distances. At my private range I have a 600 yd range, at the moment til I start clearing out more brush and a few trees, hoping to get a 1000 yards..... Very hopeful.

At the max 600 yards I have now I can hit a man torso sized steel plate all day using the 3.5 magnification using M855, 62gr AP lake city. I am also using a 20" colt match barrel.

I will try to get some pics of it at some distances.

I would greatly appreciate it....

I know the 3.5x magnification can do it; I just dont know if my eyes can. I dont have horrible vision, but it's not what it was either.

Thank you BB !!

In the first pic; I assume the tree with the donut on it is the 90yd mark? In the second, where is the 500yd mark? The hay bails?

Thanks again.

If you look closely you can see the white man size target there.

In the pic above, is the optic supposed to be sighted in at 100 yards or 200 yards? I notice there is a second, glowing, crosshair. is that the 200 or 300 mark?

That pic is of a TA11J308 reticle; the stadia lines on the 5.56 calibrated models only go to 1000m, not 1200.

My understanding of the calibration is that the tip of the illuminated portion of the reticle is 100m, the "primary" illuminated crosshair is 200m, and the "lower" illuminated crosshiar is 300m, but I am not sure with what barrel length and ammo combination.

Here is a pic of a STOP sign at 160y through a [5.56] TA11J; I need to ask my neighbor to trim his trees.

When looking through an ACOG, should you be able to easily see the illuminated sight and read the little numbers to the left of the BDC? When I look through them I have a hard time focusing on them.

Sorry I don't have a reticle pic, but I can attest to the accuracy & repeatability of the TA11. I have the one with the green donut reticle.

I set several red CD cases at approx 175 yards away. I sat on a picnic table without a bench rest. I fired as steady as I could 1 shot after another trying to hit my targets. I didn't think I hit them at all until I retrieved them Keep in mind that these targets are 5" x 5-1/2".

The TA11 is the best optic I own! I could skin a cat at 200 yards

When I bought it I played with EVERY ACOG there was. My local store has em all. I was trying to weigh the prices vs the performance of them and the TA11 was it for me. It's amazingly quick at MUCH closer ranges too. Trijicon is the best! If you choose the TA11 I'd have to recommend that you also get a QD mount like Larue for instance.

I'd also like to add that prior to firing at those targets ... I removed my ACOG and put it back on (it has the LaRue mount) just to ensure that it holds zero. It did

Do you or a buddy not have a traditional scope you could set on 3.5X to get an idea of what you will be looking at?

FWIW - I had a TA11E and loved it out to around 300 yards. I ended up swapping it for a NF 2.5-10x24 and am really glad I did.

Unfortunately, no.

I've owned a TA01 and a TA01NSN; loved the glass, hated the ER.

I'm attracted to the TA11 for 1) ER, 2) Low light shooting (hunting), 3)Flat out rugged. My only concern is that I have access out to 500yd and beyond for practice, etc, that I will need more magnification. Obviously, I will not be shooting at any animal beyond 200yds, for my personal preference. Add to that, most areas I hunt are 75 -150yds visibility anyway. I'm speaking of range work past 200 yards.

I might just have to get a cheaper optic, and in the meantime scrounging pennies for the Elcan 1.5-6x.....

This is my current dilema; I love the TA11, but I'm planning on using 75g and 77g ammo out into the 600Y range.

How far will the 75/77s be off at longer distance?

I think it's more of a magnification issue..........
