 "Absolute" Co-Witness for M4 w/Eotech?

What is a good set up for "Absolute" Co-Witness Iron sights for a M4 with a Eotech?

I never tried either....., but I was leaning twards the RRA Dominator or LaRue ECOS-C w/BUIS.., but from the descriptions they sound like they would not qualify as "Co-Witness" because the Iron sights are not in line with the optic reticle!

Am I wrong about this????

Also..., on the Dominator..., is the top of the Ghost Ring in the line of sight with the Eotech's
Reticle??

It sounds to me like the ARMS #40 and Troy are a "Absolute" Co-Witness BUIS?

Thanks in advance!!!

I have a EOtech on a RRA mount on a Colt 6290. The Irons "will" co witness when you get a cheek weld (like you normally shoot with irons). But with the EOtech you look over the sights with both eyes open to see the reticle. I hope that makes sense.

I have a RRA M-4 My eotech 512 sits right on the rail of the receiver in front of my A.R.M.S. flip up rear sight. I have what I think is a close to perfect co-wittness. No extra hight needed!

Put the Eo right on the flat top - the center of the window is coincident with the irons. Done - skip that RRA thing.

+1 I use a LMT rear sight. Surefire M73 handguards, Eotech 551 on a LaRue mounted on the Surefire handguards. Co-witnesses perfectly.

Maybe these pics can clear up how the sight picture might look through a EOTech mounted directly to the flat top upper. I'm using a Cut Carry Handle BUIS.

Co-witness.

Looking over the iron sights.

Of course when shooting with both eyes open, the EOTech will almost disapear and you should only see the target and recticle.

I have both a GG&G MAD and KAC 300 Meter BUIS and both have the dot sitting right on top of the post.

These are also mounted straight on the flat top receiver without any additional spacers or rails.

Thanks for the most excellent info QUIB!

I Just finshed dehorning & refinshing my Chopped Carry Handle BUIS...., Great set-up, It's a natural......, looks to be the perfect "Absolute" Co-Witness fixed BUIS!!

Looks like the left over part of the CH could be made into some kind of accessory mounting platform...., I'll have to see what I can come up with!!

Your very welcome! Here's my CCH BUIS, with a little work they can rival a LMT BUIS.

No need to buy a mount for your EOTech. Mount it directly onto your Flattop and try and it out. If you find that it site to low (as many of us do) then add a mount.
