5.56 TAP
Is there any reliable way to get this stuff?
Become a LEO and have your dept order it.

That's it really, unless you're a police department then you're mostly SOL.
I gave a Hornady rep an earful over the situation at the NRA show, although he was utterly clueless.

I must be missing something... I have about 500 rounds at home... I'm not LEO... And I find it pretty much anywhere....
Are you specifically looking for the red boxed stuff rather than the black boxed TAP "FPD"? According to Molon, they are essentially the same, and the black box is available all over.
He's talking about the 5.56 pressure TAP not the .223 pressure TAP.
.223 TAP easy to get 5.56 TAP not so much.
Watch the EE. It's listed all the time.
Check ammotogo.com They usually carry the LE boxes.

It's not on the website at all at the moment, in or out of stock.
Hornady superperformance =/= TAP
.223 is not 5.56.
You didn't specify until now. Check the equipment exchange.

Are you reffering to 8126N? The 5.56 pressure?
I see it on the EE all the time.......
I didn't specify? What's the thread title?

Why don't you try it yourself and then let us know where you find it in stock for sale outside of LE.
The ignorance displayed by your post make ME laugh.

[Mulder]The TAP is out there.[/Mulder]
As mentioned earlier in the thread, the Superformance is not the same as TAP at all.

Finding it outside of LE sales is hit and miss IF he had GOOGLE it then he would have learned that.
I did a bit more research than google before making this thread. I was looking for info on this stuff which some people were able to help with.

equipment exchange would probably be the best place to find some 5.56 tap right now op.
Thanks everyone.
I have 400 rounds for sale on a local forum. If it doesn't move quickly over there, I'll post it up in the EE
BVAC and HSM both make 5.56 75gr loads. Does anybody have any experience, or know how comparable they may be?
This just posted!
Pricey? Yes.
5.56mm TAP? Yes.
5.56 TAP GTG out of a 14.5" carbine gas system?
I know the Superformance 75gr was blowing primers if used in anything but a rifle length system.

Yep, good to go.

I believe I recall reading where Molon determined it would reliably fragment out to 46m from a 10.5", if that is of any benefit to you.
