I'm about toasted trying to understand all the multiple options for 5.56 ammo. Can someone tell me simply what is the best types of ammo to just target shoot, for home defense, & longer range shooting at game.
My Colt LE 6920 has a 16" barrel & a 1/7 twist.
I'm very new to AR's and would appreciate any help I can get.

A couple of years ago, I would have recommended XM193 as well, but a lot of primer problems have been reported lately. IMI M193 is held in high regard now, but good luck finding it. I also like Winchester White Box 55 gr.
