How much does 1000 rounds of .223 weigh roughly?

I have an e-mail saying some ammo I bought has shipped. It is 2 boxes with a total of 129 pounds. I cannot remember if I ordered 2 or 4 thousand. I wanted 2 but may have double ordered.

1,000 rounds = about 28 pounds, so you ordered 4,000 rounds. If they send over 4,000, just divert the extra 2K to my address provided in an IM.

1,000 Rounds M193 shipping weight = 26-28lbs, IIRC.

I just received 1000 rounds of Radway Green 5.56x45 NATO. Shipping weight was 28lbs, however it came packed loose in boxes. Depending on what kind of ammo you bought (you don't say if it is .223 or something else) and how its packaged it may be a bit more, maybe 30 or 32 pounds a thousand. But if its 129lbs of .223, that would be roughly 4000 rounds.

Your ordered 4K rounds, if it was 5.56 ammo.

I just used my bathroom scale to weight my last case of 55gr XM193. It weighed 29 lbs (weighed it 3x at different angles).

According to UPS, my scale is acurate to within 1 lb.

You have twice the fun comming Come to think of it 32.25 lbs per thousand is heavy for 5.56. Is it comming in cans, crates or on strippers? What ammo did you order?

Well, considering it says Full metal jacket, I would say it is FMJ. I do not remember seeing soft point, can you point that out?

Check the balistics box on the left side next to the 223b and AE 223 and hit the compare button. It's the same ammo.

Actually Kramer and BSTOCK you both made a point to shit on the thread. The purpose of the thread was to ask how much ammo weighed hoping I would get some responses from people who had received large orders. In the future unless you can contribute to the purpose of the thread I would appreciate you not posting at all in my thread. Just read, keep your comments to yourself and move on or start a new thread ie: ammo is same as other etc... BSTOCK it appears you are going out of your way to do this so I am asking you nicely to not post in any of my threads AT ALL. Thanks and I will do the same with you. Some people on here just rub me the wrong way and you are 1 of them. Once again start a different thread to make your point as you deem necessary. I will forward these threads to the mods so it is understood by all. Thanks. Kramer I will ask the samr from you also.

4 out of 18 replies are related to your title. But you were quick to gloat about your "ammo score" in a hurry. Gimme an effin break, you're the one the asked if you know a better price to prove it... and you're the one who hijacked your own thread.

Ha? You started two threads, one at 9:21PM to ask the ammo weight. You did not list the ammo or how it was packaged. You thought you had a score and wouldn't post where you bought it till your order shipped so you started another thread at 9:53 PM saying where you bought it. Your supposed to share but I can understand that. Now, the two posts by you really got merged in my mind because they were both about about the same subject. If you asked a question in one thread you could expect to have it answered in it's sister thread. I went over my posts and cannot find anywhere where, in either thread where I was trying to be anything but helpful and supportive to you.
You asked:
Do you know if this similar to AE .223 & WWB .223?

I did your YOUR homework for you and posted a link with instructions to the Federal site to compare ammo. I also told you it had the same exact ballistics of AE223.

When dynemd posted "I'm in mimikamimi! Looks like top flight ammo for cheap to me. Got 4k, thanks much. You replied "You are welcome sir. Glad to see people with clarity post for a change."

When I post the correct info about being the same as AE223 you accuse me of shitting on your thread.

I think you have buyers remorse because you were thinking you got a great deal when in fact you are paying close to the going rate for AE223 ammo and are taking out your frustrations on Kramer and I.

If your first Thread was " I am thinking of buying this ammo for X amount of $ what do you think?" Or researched it yourself we would not be having this conversation. But no, you kept your deal a secret. I did nothing but try to answer your questions and your going to forward it to a moderator. Let me know how you made out with that! BTW, there is a code of conduct posted for this website. I don't need a condescending post from you to tell me where, when and how I can post. I wonder what it feels like to be so far over your head

Edited to add: You didn't get screwed on the ammo, it's not a bad price. I picked 3K up myself. See, I am not trying to make you feel bad.

I am not going to argue with you. No buyers remorse here. I just got e-mail confirmation that my XM193 shipped today also. And I was not gloating, as it appears to be the same ammo as AE223. So I don't have a problem paying going rate on ammo. But I don't appreciate comments like Kramer's with nothing to follow it up. So compare it to something that is a better value. What Radway Green or crusty Guat? No thanks. It is what a person says but how they say it. And even the typed word can have a negative inflection to it and that is what I was picking up on. If it is the same ammo, then I got some cool looking boxes for the same price as AE223. I did not realize posting the info. about the ammo opened the thread up to comments not relative to the thread title. No problem though buy what you like, Oh and it appears I ordered 4000 rounds because my XM193 weighs 29 pounds.

I thought you needed all the help you could get you because you were determining a good price for .223 by comparing it with the price of .243 and making your buying decision on that basis, plus you didn't know how much a K of 223 weighs and your not sure if you ordered 2K or 4K rounds.

Bogey 1911 asked a question, you answered with "I am not sure"
and I answered the question for you both.
I thought you needed all the help you could get you because you were determining a good price for .223 by comparing it with the price of .243 and making your buying decision on that basis, plus you didn't know how much a K of 223 weighs and your not sure if you ordered 2K or 4K rounds.
I was just trying to help you man. I honored your request not to post in your threads but this isn't happen if you stay up nights trying to pic the scab on this thread and find something I said or did wrong. Let it go. I don't want to play with you either.

Good deal, we understand eachother. Done
