Barrett Rec7
I am looking into purchasing one and I am wondering what the opinion is out there as I cannot find much. I would like to modify it to have a 14.5 barrel that is pinned and welded. Any thoughts would really help me out.
I have one. It is accurate and reliable. If you can afford it, I don't think you'll be sorry.
Great gun!! I own LWRC and POF and I have to say the Barrett has the best piston system of the three in my opinion. I had a scout barrel from AR15performance installed in my 6.8 REC7 so a word of warning, the gas port hole in the barrel is not in the standard spot. Any barrel you order will have to come un-drilled.
I like them and would certainly recommend them. I'm not sure they are the best but they are a barret
I really like the Barrett and think it a great weapon. If I did not have my LMT MRP CQB I would go for the Barrett over the other competition.. By the looks of it the Barrett has a very robust piston system.. I also like the company and the way they do business..

That is exactly what I was talking about! He kept it real even though I'm sure he lost a good account...
I think my next upper will be a Barrett REC7 PDW in 5.56. I want a 8" and that letter alone wills me to go with the REC7 over the others even if I have to spend an extra grand. (and I'm a po bastard!)
The one rec7 I handled had an ARMS rail, just couldn't get over that. Literally did not buy it strictly based on IMO the poor quality of that rail.
Everyone since then I have seen has had a DD rail, looks like they solved their only problem. I do regret not picking that original up though.

I agree with Ronnie Barrett on this one. I live in CA and I am moving because of the laws passed that i cannot own what I want.
But this was a question of an opinion on the gun not the company. Thank you for your responses and when I move in the next few months I think I will be getting me a rec 7.
Any pics of the piston system? How is the carrier and piston drive rod interface?

What does the Rec7 run?
Seems everywhere I have found it is out of stock and not showing a price.
