Hey guys, in a round about way, I would like to build a piston AR15 .556 and want to know who is who. I recently sold my Stag M2T gas, and loved every minute of it, but I was most interested in the piston design because it's easier to clean, and something different. I would love to stick with Stag being that they impressed me so much the first go around, but I'm open to opinions. Thought about the Spikes Tactical lower complete and some sort of piston upper, but I'm really lost when It comes to the piston manufacturers. I don't really even know if the Spikes Tactical lower is still a hot item amongst builders with budget in mind.
Would it be better to just flat out buy a complete option in the long run?
If you guys wanna point me in the right direction I will start doing some research on whatever seems to be the better more reliable designs. I really appreciate the expedited info :-)
I have the Stag Model 8 with plus package and I love it!! Eats any ammo I feed it, haven't had a single issue with it yet... Despite what some people may think its a great rifle, extremely well built (no tilt issues), super accurate and easy to clean. If you had a good experience with you M2 why not stick with them, just my opinion though...
That being said there are a lot of other big name companies building them too including, POF, LWRC, Adam Arms, Barrett, Rugger, SIg, etc. Have fun choosing

Keep a stock AR and look into the Osprey 416..I have 3 systems..great piston system.
