Well I hate to complain, maybe someone could explain to me WHY a company would not sell a part (explaining that a gas block is press fit on a barrel) so that a customer could upgrade a part to ensure that the product would not fail- oh they (have been seen) to fail with high round count (spoken by LMT phone person)- well lets hope Charlie (that's me) will never get caught out somewhere where he can not send his rifle out to LMT to get the part he needs after it breaks, and God forbide it is not during sometime (who knows) when he can just say "hey time out", I have to send my rifle back to the factory now, I will catch you later-so sorry-my bad. What is the deal with this? Not very impressed. And I guess this will make some prospective piston buyers question dealing with LMT, I DID not ask for a free gas block- I pay my way! -but just wait and send it to us if it breaks- but until then go ahead and TRUST IT. Don't worry I won't ever put a high round count on any rifle- IT IS THE CONCEPT THAT IT SHOULD BE THE BEST STRUCTURE POSSIBLE AT ALL TIMES. I mean how far off can cmc machining really be, I did shorten the barrel- (I knew at the time would void warranty) but why not sell me the gas block? I am not asking for warranty work.

Are you gonna carry a gas block around with you every time you go to the range or have it in your "go to" vest? Even if you do carry the spare gass block with you in the field, how would you change it in the field? So now what, your carrying a hammer, punch and allen key(wrench)? Their's a limit to how much you can carry on person.
I'm just trying to think about this logically. Don't get me wrong, nothing chaps me more than gun companys that won't sell parts. Ex; Ruger, Mossberg, Sig for example. I'm sure there are many more.
NO I wanted to get it changed out. So I had dealt with the issue.
I fully understand why they won't sell you one. It's the same as it's always been. They don't want to be responsible for just any and everybody monkeying around with their system. And I am not saying that you're not competent. You may very well know exactly what your doing, but how would they know that? Some asshole turns his gun into a grenade jacking around with it and it's a huge lawsuit just waiting to happen. Companies have to cover their ass, know what I mean?
Basically you can do anything you want to it, it's yours. But I wouldn't expect many companies to help you work on your own gun. Case in point, I have restored and old Marlin .22cal. I know what I am doing and the gun has turned out beautiful. But it's missing one last piece. A screw that just so happens to go through the safety/hammer mechanism. They will not sell it to me. I can buy any other parts, but not this one. They do it for legal reasons, and in the world we live in I don't blame them.
Can understand that, I would send it in and let them change it but the representative suggested to wait till it broke instead.
The one I have now is exactly new- maybe 7 rounds down the tube- and I think if I remember they are not that cheap to buy- @ 700 from them cheaper other places, but those are probably not the Gen 3 block.
