PWS MK114 in 7.62X39 A.S.C. Magazines feeding issues
Anyone else have the PWS MK114 in 7.62X39 that have experienced any feeding issues?
I have run 3 different types of ammo and all seem to do the same thing.
I feel 99% certian it is a mag issue because if you run a half mag, it cycles flawlessly, like it should.
It only seems to happen when the 30round mag is full, if you only load 15 or so, it seems to function fine.
The rifle is brand new, the mag is the one that came with it,
I love the rifle, but now I am wondering how smart I was to have already ordered more mags from A.S.C.?

I run a CSC arms piston 762x39 upper with ASC mags and only issues I have is when feeding HP Wolf ammo, FMJ Yugo feeds very well. Wolf HP gets stuck before the feed ramp
Wolf it is!
Thanks for the reply, all 3 ammo types I ran were Some type of Wolf, the worst was WPA Military Classic!
Gonna be gettin' me some Yugo!
Thanks for the info!
I've not used ASC Mag's, but the cproducts gen4 is pretty much identical. I've not had any problems, but I don't use Wolf and I sprayed a dry lubricant into the mag bodies before I ever used them.
Take the magazine spring out and make sure the spring tilts the front of the follower up.

I will do that too.
Thanks all!

I've heard of guys using graphite or other dry lube and wrecking their chambers when the case expands when a round dusted with that stuff is fired.........The graphite or other material is pressed into the chamber wall/lining which basically leaves it gritty and then prone to feeding/extraction malfunctions.
I have CP mags- they were problematic in the beginning. The steps i took is this. Replacement all mag springs with Wolff AK extra power springs, load only 25rds in the mags (haven't try to fully load 30rds since changing out springs-they may also now work at full capacity)....They are now 99.5% GTG.
PMag anyone?

Magpul already does own the market.....until more manufacturers are offering AR platform rifles in this caliber in larger numbers.... it won't happen. I'm with you though, I really wish they would, but the shape of that round does not lend itself to making a polymer mag easy. At this point the R&D requirement vs market size wouldn't justify Magpul or any other prominent mag maker going into production.
C Products is claiming that they are unveiling a new and improved 7.62X39 magazine for the AR on March 12th. I'm interested to see what they are going to be offering. I've had about 50/50 reliability with their past 7.62X39 AR mags. The ASCs have been much better even though from the outside they look the same. I think the difference is in the spring weight/quality and the quality of the internal welding in the spine.

Thanks... I didn't know that and I'll be watching for it. I'd love a 7.62x39 AR but the whole question of nags has always held me back.

Yep, had that problem too, but I ignored her and bought mine anyway
But seriously, ordered 2 of the "new and improved" C Products mags and we shall see.
