I picked up my new M6A2 today and after reading the manual there is no mention of break in procedures. I'm assuming it is just like any rifle but figured I'd ask in case anyone knows different.

Cold Hammer Forged barrels do not really require a break in - but I confess to having taken a boresnake with me the first time I shoot my LWRC rifles. One shot, boresnake, shot, snake, etc for about 5 shots. Then every few shots for another mag or two. That's about all the "break in" I've ever down.

I believe that's generally true of all chrome lined barrels (and maybe other surface treatments).

I own several lwrcs and never broke them in. I simply loaded my mags and shot the living hell out of them.

I'm on my 6 or 7th LWRC upper. I clean when I get it. Shoot the damn thing and then clean when done.

This is how I broke all my LWRC's in.

Clean off all factory lube/shipping oils.

Lube with provided Slip 2000 EWL.

Load 4 30 round magazines

Site it in

After site in, shoot the remaining rounds as fast as I can at close range. 7 to 10 yards away from the target.

DONE.

Thats just me

As my platoon sergeant used to say "Just shoot the mofo."

You mean the LWRC NiCor surface conversion technolog on all of their cold hammer forged barrels (not chrome).

I wouldnt bother with breakin of the barrel or anything else. LWRC is GTGright out of the box.
