Let me clear out the confusion.

The AFG is a differently utilized product made by MAGPUL which you can find at the attached link:

Honestly it looks like it feels a hell of a lot better than an AFG does. I will be ordering one to give it a shot. Looks nice...

Thanks for the feedback; the leading concept behind the design of the PTK was to create a grip which would maintain natural body stance,
while implementing the combat proven "point and shoot" technique.

Therefore the index finger is rested on its own as close as possible to the hand-guards,
while the rest of the hand maintains natural angle to prevent wrist fatigue.

Personally, I like combining it with our VTS on the side of the hand-guards as a completing thumb support.

Purchase information in the US is available at TheMAKOgroup.

The AFG concept is not new. And Magpul certainly wasn't the first....

EDIT; Found this helpful video on the PTK... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqaw-VCUvkk

So does my index finger rest on that front most piece with the rest of the hand on the curved portion or is that supposed to be a handstop with the user having the choice between handstop or grabbing the back section of the PTK?

Would love to see pics of the product with a hand on it for demonstration.

Thanks!

Here is a presentation of the PTK on a Remington;
Personally it's one of my favorite configurations, keeping it natural while making the cocking action much more comfortable,
providing the shooter with a highly ergonomic & solid grip even better used alongside the VTS on the side rail as thumb lock / rest.

The MIKI is a very comfortable, very effective grip, but there were many requests for a similar grip that fit the same role without a light mount. The PTK was designed to fit that role. It is much different than the AFG, which is designed is designed for a much different shooting stance.

Would this be to bulky for an AR 15 Pistol? How is the profile (height) of this compared to the Magpul AFG?
FAB-Defense  [Industry Partner]
1/8/2013 3:34:41 AM
The overall height of the PTK is 2.04", 0.1" more than the MAGPUL AFG.
Should have no problem using either one on an AR 15 Pistol.

Best Regards

It looks like a natural to add a small flash light switch in that index finger rest, momentary light press and full press (click) for on. Wire travels through to the back and on the the flashlight.

Edit to add: Is it me, or does it look like a Star Trek type space ship?
