 Centurion Arms Rail System
RainierArms  [Industry Partner]
2/28/2011 12:32:21 PM
Description:

The C4 rail system is a lightweight, rugged, 2 piece free float rail that when installed gives the uppers a continuous top rail.

Features:

* Continuous top rail
* Anti-Rotational Tabs
* Integrated QD Attachment sockets - Limited Movement
* 2 Piece Design for easy maintenance

By now, you all know Centurion Arms for it's quality and they have come through again. When they told me about a 2 piece rail system, I thought to myself, "Great another 2 quad rail system" Until I got a chance to see it in person. These are extremely light weight yet very robust. I would rank it up there with the best 2 piece quad rails available in the market today. We should know as we sell just about every rail system known to man.

7.0 - MAP $218.45

9.0 - MAP $246.95

10.0 - MAP $265.05

12.0 - MAP $295.50

I got one of these rails in the midlength size. Very lightweight, no sharp edges anywhere and finish is very nice with a semi rough texture. Its going on a 14.5" build, just got the rest of my parts today. Won't get to put it together until Thursday when I'm off from work but I'm very excited to get the gun together.

How solid are they compared to the DD omega rail system.

As in they are superior to the DD Omega?

If these rails are as solid as the barrel I have from them, they should be awesome.

The Centurion Arms rail is a direct install that requires minor modification to the delta ring, and incorporates tabs for immediate mechanical lock preventing any movement of the rails in addition to its clamping mechanism. The Omega uses tiny set screws to lock against the barrel nut, but requires no mods. Based on the question of which is more solid, I have no doubt the Centurion Arms C4 rail will win every time. There is no chance of the barrel nut coming loose, and no chance of the rail spinning with the CA C4 rail. Its the same answer I would give if you asked if the DD RIS II rail was more solid than the DD Omega series.

So when installing, does the rifle in question have to have a delta ring?

Also any chance these will be able to be installed on rifles with pinned flashhiders?

It uses just the standard barrel nut, not the entire delta ring assembly.

Yes, all you need to do is cut the D-ring, twist off the spring, then remove the handguard cap. A pinned device is not a problem.

My duty weapon in its current form... note the Centurion Arms C4 rail (on the CA upper) and new Magpul MBUS II.

I think the carbine model is coming out first, I'll see if I can find a rough time frame for the carbine and middy.

How do you remove the handgaurd cap without removing the Front Sight?

I have installed a troy rail and left the front handgaurd cap on.........again how do you get it off without removing the FSB?

Cut it, I know of no other way aside from pulling the FSB.

is it a pain in the arse? or an easy fix/cut?

I have cut off delta rings which is pretty easy.

Basically i have a BCM midlength that is screaming for a rail and I don't want to have to take off the FSB. This rail looks promising.

Why are you guys considering removing the FSB? There is no need to remove the FSB. Either cut the delta ring and spring or pull the barrel and remove the delta ring and spring.

It is not the delta ring and spring....they are easy to cut out. It is the front handgaurd cap.

I've removed caps with snips and pliers or a dremmel wheel and pliers. If you are careful you can do it without leaving any marks. If you don't care about marks (which I don't in the slightest) it's even easier.

This does look interesting. One thing I like about the Omega is the lack of modifications, but it's not essential for me. I'd rather not remove the barrel though, so this gives me another option if I decide to remove the ugly (it's an M&P ORC, and as ugly as any orc in fiction) gas block and put a longer rail on. Right now I've got a 7" omega and have been thinking about selling it and getting a mid length or rifle length version, this looks quite nice and while the lockup and stability of the Omega never gave me any concern I can see where this is an even better system for anyone willing to remove the delta ring assembly.

I particularly like the finish on this thing, it's got a nice look to it. I assume it's plenty durable.

So do I, its mechanical lock with the upper receiver, as well as the way the two pieces support each other make it a very strong rail system.

This might just be the rail that I get, need to do a little more research. I swear Stick, you could take a photo of a turd and make it look good.

Looks nice, I'll have to add a carbine length one on my list of stuff to get. Right now an EOtech is at the top of that list followed by a new computer monitor, my desktop monitor cracked. :(

Will this setup fit an Adams piston kit? Judging by Stick's measurements and the AA website it might work but I figured I would ask for sure..

I like the price of the new Rainier rails but I am more of a fan of the traditional 4 rail setup like these have and the extra price IMO isn't so much that they are out of the question. If you had to pick between the two in terms of comfort and such which would be the choice?

I'm not sure about the Adams Arms fitting, hopefully John will be able to answer that one. As far as which rail is better, its a matter of what you plan to do with it, and what you are comfortable with. I can say that I've using a Centurion Arms C4 rail on my duty weapon of that is any indication of how much I like it.

I would still be interested in finding out if it fits an AA setup. I would maybe be looking at ordering within the next week or so.
