Description:

The Geissele Super 3 Gun (S3G) trigger is a semi-automatic-only derivative of the two-stage Super Select-Fire (SSF) combat trigger that Geissele Automatics produces for customers in the U.S. Special Operations Community.

The S3G was developed to combine the SSF combat trigger’s match-grade semi-automatic performance with its smooth single-stage full-automatic feel to make a fast, smooth, and robust trigger ideal for 3 Gun competition shooting. The new Geissele Super 3 Gun trigger has a super short trigger pull and a short reset so that rounds can be sent downrange as quickly as possible while still maintaining superb accuracy. The SSF’s long, smooth pull was shortened and combined with a lightning-quick reset to give it a unique, hybrid trigger pull that is a cross between a traditional two-stage and single-stage trigger while at the same time retaining the safety and robustness of the SSF’s two-stage trigger design.

The result is an outstanding, well-balanced trigger that is ideal for high-volume, accurate fire. An S3G-equipped rifle enables the shooter to engage targets faster and more accurately than with any other trigger/rifle combination available today. Field tests have shown that expert S3G shooters can routinely and accurately deliver up to twelve shots on an IDPA target at 7 yards in an amazing 1.9 seconds.

A description of the S3G pull:

■1. The shooter starts pulling the trigger as his sights become aligned on target.
■2. At about 3.5 lbs., the trigger starts to move back smoothly, like it’s on ball bearings.
■3. After the trigger moves a short distance, the weapon discharges. Nothing precedes the discharge: no second stage stop, no grittiness, no stacking of the trigger pull weight as the hammer is cammed down like on a stock AR15 trigger. The trigger finger feels a sensation of walking along a perfectly flat, glassy-smooth plateau that suddenly drops away.
■4. After a short overtravel, the trigger is quickly reset when the shooter slightly relaxes his trigger finger and the next shot is ready to be fired without having to go back to the beginning of the trigger pull cycle.

Just wondering how many rounds this type of set up will hold up to? Thanks John

I'm new to the trigger game. I am very interested in this trigger as I have been doing my share of reading up and the Geissele name speaks for itself. The only reason I have never strayed from my standard trigger is I just never saw a reason for a 2 stage trigger in my carbine. I do have one question if anyone is willing to give a quick lesson. What is the whole 'small pin' 'large pin' deal? Also, are these triggers fairly easy to install? I am able to fix/build just about anything on my AR but I get a little nervous with all those springs-n-such down there. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Large pin receivers were made by Colt a while back, but now Colt makes their guns and lowers with small pin holes. Triggers are very easy to install, just look in the Build it Yourself section on the website.

Sounds like the trigger that should be in my SR15 w/3t brake.

Is this trigger compatible with HK416 firing pin safety?

(JP trigger is and I use it now but always look for improvements)

The Noveske Shooting Team uses this trigger, as well as several other G.A. Triggers and cannot say enough good about them.

I have the trigger too and it is all what it is cracked up to be. EXTREMELY smooth - definitely worth the money! Like the man said - its designed to put multiple rounds downrange and accurately. Ive probably put only 300 rounds downrange but Im not worried about it wearing out to soon.Light pull....easy reset..IM HAPPY!!

That's where mine went. I got the 'dynamic' one though, and am in love. I was nervous about getting rid of my stock Knight's trigger but this trigger has completely exceeded my expectations.

I've heard that Geissele triggers use .156" pins, slightly larger that the mil-spec .154". Does this trigger require fitting larger pins in the lower receiver?

Standard mil-spec trigger and hammer pins.

The concept of the new S3G G.A. trigger, as described here, seems to provide an advantage for a combat arm (shooting on the move, from atypical positions, rapid fire). I have SSA G.A. triggers in my ARs. Is the S3G enough of an improvement/advantage, for this type of shooting, to warrant the upgrade cost over my current SSAs?

I am very interested in trying this trigger in my current build. I really don't like the two stage concept and have been waiting for a Geissele single stage. I was just about to jump on it from another seller that has them on sale but they are offering a flat trigger. I prefer curved and was wondering what forum members are buying these for?

Is the pin size same as the ACR? If it is yes then this will be my future ACR trigger.

I bought one and put it in last night. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet (except for dryfire) but so far I'm a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong its good, I mean really good, but I was expecting earth shattering for the cost$$. I had a self modified standard trigger group in before the Geissele and I guess what I had before was pretty good. I'll have a chance to shoot it quite a bit next weekend so I'll repost if my analysis changes. I've shot some other peoples stock AR's and from what I've experienced if you change out one of those stock triggers to the Geissele you will probably have your world rocked.

Shameless Pic of the offending AR, its the close one.

You have to remember that their triggers are specialty triggers and the three gun has a specific role to fill. The 3guns have very short trigger resets and are for rapid target engagement. I received my Super Dynamic 3 gun Thursday and am looking forward to taking it to the range. I also wonder where the extra $100 in price comes from as the shape is pretty standard lol. I assume R&D but /shrug lol who knows. I have to say compared to the POC G.I. trigger that was in there before (granted it had issues) this feels very smooth.

With any trigger job on a stock trigger what remains is slow locktime (~10ms stock vs. 5.1 Geissele). Heavier pull weight (S3G~3.2lb), longer reset and the chance of lowered reliability

Fingered one of these at SHOT and in addition to the lighter trigger pull, I immediately felt my wallet lighten.

ETA: ...and the wallet lightens. Just placed an order through Rainier for a S3G!
