TNVC STAND ALONE HIGH INTENSITY DROP-IN LAMP FOR SUREFIRE LIGHTS. NEW 600 LUMEN HEADS DONE!!
Victor  [Industry Partner]
9/6/2008 4:52:33 PM
We are very happy to announce that the cover issue story in the March 2009 issue of SWAT magazine entitled, "Ten Months of firing the LWRCI M6A1 Carbine" was completed. 3 guns, with rounds counts of 20,270, 21,615, and 19,015 included the TNVC Drop-In Lamp assemblies with no failures to speak of. Overall a very good read with some pretty rigorous testing Pat Rogers and company performed.

Just been notified that the August SWAT magazine, Pat Rogers how to employ a light article continues to use our lamps with great results. We are very pleased with all the outstanding field reports of our lamps that keep coming in. Thanks all!

With the introduction and popularity of our drop-in tail cap and lamp kits, we've had an enormous response from folks who did not need a strobe and/or a programmable tail cap and just had a need for our high output 256 out the emitter/190 lumen out the front lamp assembly. We actually had such a high demand from some Mil and LE units for the stand-alone lamps, we've caught up on production from our brave men and women in harms way, and these are now available to the commercial market!!

Just to recap for some folks not familiar with our original lamp assembly that went with our tailcaps, here is the link; DROP-IN KIT

Most of the drop-ins out on the market are of 2 types: tightly focused "thrower" or wide angle "wall of light". While both of them have their specific uses, neither addresses a general or tactical application. Our Cree Q5 LED Drop-in lamps represent a perfect compromise between distance capabilities of a bright hot spot and usable amount of light provided by generous side-spill. With a 2-Hour continuous run-time, we can think of no other drop-in lamp to really see in the shadows of indoor and outdoor environments. Also please be assured our lamps fit perfectly with the surefire lamp covers and allow them to screw all the way down with no gaps.

Specifications.
Lamp: Cree Q5
Voltage: 4-15V
Output: 256 lumen
Runtime: 2+ hours
1 year warranty

For Suefire models: G2, G2L, G2Z, G3, 6P, 6PD, 9P, Z2, , C2, C3, and M2

We also thought since the normal inexpensive G2 Surefire lights with our drop-in lamp has now become a TRUE all-around fighting light, we are offering special combo packages for the Surefire G2 and 6P Standard with our lamps. The G2L with it's metal head will dissipate heat much better if you plan to use the lamp for extended ON duration times.

G2 Nitrolon PRICE: $78.00 (Plus Shipping)
G2L (Aluminum Head) PRICE: $108.00 (Plus Shipping)
6P Standard PRICE: $100.00 (Plus Shipping)

These are now up on our web site for immediate ordering!

Thanks all,

Vic

Anyone have a side by side comparison with the Malkoff Devices M60 drop-in?
Same money. Both use the same base LED. Should be an interesting comparison.

Vic,

Is it okay to use this drop in lamp in a Z32 with lexan lens? Is there any concerns of the lens melting during extended use?

I thought I have read where a drop for the E2D series was availible, do you have those?

Also, what about the M96 series surefires? Any drop in replacements for those?

Thanks

This was my first thought as I've been using M60's in my weapon-mounted lights with great results. I'll be buying one of these for personal evaluation and will try to get some comparative beam shots. Unfortunately, I only have a cheap digital camera - so we'll see.

I'll try to answer a few questions....

Always a chance of the unit getting VERY hot if someone was to leave the light on for 2 SOLID hours.

The E2D series drop in heads are still being sold in great numbers here. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=23&t=505748

You will find the hot spot and fill is a perfect balance vs. the other units out there. Another nice feature as talked about is the SF existing lamp cover will tighten all the way down and yes when someone purchases a light combo they get the original SF lamp that comes with the unit. (I have a big pile of them laying around here! )

We have no official M96 drop-ins.

Vic,

Got mine today. In short, they rock!

I haven't had time yet to do any side by side comparisons between these and my slew
of other drop-ins, but right out of the box they are impressive to say the least. The blow
away my current 230 lumen drop-ins and the spill is perfect for indoor use.

For the record, the reflector's are entirely LOP. Contrary to our phone conversation.

Cheers,
Jason

Got mines too; same time Jason got his. Haven't played with it much, but it definitely lights-up big time indoors! I'll play with it more when I go into work tomorrow night.

Hey Vic, initially I did have problems with the lamps not working when installed. I tried the lamps on 3 different G2Zs. Of course, it eventually did work fine but I had to kinda play with the bezel and tail-cap when tightening it.

Thanks again!

Strange on the tightening. Never experienced this. Glad you like them, they are BRIGHT!

Thanks for the order!!

I would like to see drop-in for the M96X series too. And in an perfect world, an 6-volt IR drop-in for the 6P series would be sweet too. More so since you are the NOD guru here Victor.

I got mine today and it is amazing. The circle of light is huge. I was standing under a street light and the amount of light you could see was still noticeable. When I walked into the woods it was like daylight. The light really seemed to penetrate the woods well.

Glad you're enjoying the lamp, THEY ARE BRIGHT as you noticed! BLINDING bright to say the least. My wife FINALLY thought this little lamp was worth it compared to all our ultra expensive NV gear according to her! I try to tell her sometimes it's good NOT to be seen at night.

We will be receiving another large batch tomorrow, as we sold out last week! Thanks to all who have ordered!

Just on a side note, I was out in the high Sierra mountains for the last several days taking a break...These lamps never cease to amaze me on the brightness, especially in heavy snowfall!

These units were specifically designed to work with the selected Surefire line of lights. We do not know what other lights besides the Surefires the lamps will fit. Hope this helps.

For the hell of it, I dropped one in my Pentagon MS2 which is attached to my Benelli M4. The lamp seemed a bit loose, but once I screwed everything back together it seemed like it would work ok. Put a few dozen rounds down range and it still worked. Like Vic said these lamps were not developed for other light manufactures, so use caution. I bought a few extra lamps and when they arrive I'll use one in my Pentagon through a few more range sessions before I feel comfortable with it. But so far so good.

And yes, the increase in the light output was outstanding compared to the pentagon lamp. Night and day difference! So it's worth the experiment time...

Hope that helps.

I ordered a P6 with Q5 Lamp yesterday, once I get it I will take some pictures from across a dark parking lot at night. I cant wait..............after using a shitty streamlight scorpion for a year and a half its about time to upgrade.

BTW- Will get a tracking number for my order? if not, any idea about how long shipping might take?

Thanks!!!
