I have an A1 kit I'm building and I need a 20" barrel. I'm striking out on finding one. Anyone know of a source?

DEZ arms. Not real cheap @ $170 but a very nice new production 20" 1/7 A1 barrel just the same.

Green Mountain. This is a 1:12 A1 barrel, I am shipping one to John Thomas this week to mount the FSB.

On the 1-12 twist barrel are you going to reload or run factory ammo through it ?
Just wondering on the accuracy of a 1-12 vrs 1-9.
Thanks

Were you actually able to find one? Where?

ar15hardware's 20" A1 looks like it has a thinner profile than that other brand, but that other brand has a 1-7 twist.

If you want an original USGI barrel, keep a diligent eye on the EE, and gunbroker, although GB tends to be pricey these days.

I wish you would have posted this last week, I just sold 3 Colt CMPC's and an early Colt MPC.

They pop up from time to time, just have to either get lucky, or check the EE every half hour (ask me how I know).

From the dealer closest to me that I found on their web page, shipped delivered for the price listed on the web page. I hear they will also ship direct.

Both, and will stick to 55 grain.

Here is a complete upper at a fair price (not mine). You could use this assembly or strip it and just use the barrel with your kit, and sell the rest of the parts to recoup your $$. Going the latter route you could probably come out with the barrel for around $200. Just a thought.
