A little jealous

So last night, it was pissing down rain pretty bad, and one of my sargeants and I met in a parking deck with our captain to just shoot the breeze and get out of the rain. My captain knows I'm what we refer to around work as a "gun fag." So he opens up the back of his expedition and slides open one of the drawers to show me his rifle. What I saw was mostly glorious! It had a flat top upper with a short (probably 10.5") barrel. But the lower was a partial fence Colt M16A1 with the original stock on it. It was in really nice shape! Too bad it had the modern upper on it though. I was all excited and blurted out, "Thats a partial fence M16 lower!" He replied, "Your weird!"

As soon as I saw it, I immediately thought, "He should just put this away. There is no point in me getting excited over this. Just take it away so the pain of not being able to take it home desn't hurt that bad."
Later I thought to myself how funny it was that I was exicted because it was a M16A1. Back in the day I would have neen just excited about it being a select fire. This subforum changed that!

It was partial fence and marked M16A1? ANother transitional rifle. Most partial fences would have been marked M16 or XM16E1. Maybe they added 'A1' ? That would be odd too since services using the M16 would likely not have bothered.

For some reason I get a little excited about Colt FA's no matter the flavor. Gun Fag must be a LEO thing. First time I ever heard that one. Should have been what they called Judge Reinhold in "Beverly Hills Cop". Can remember the first time an English buddy told me he was going for a pack of fags. I was a little stunned until I found out fags were cigarettes. Guy's not going after just one but a whole pack. Thought I was in Greenwich Village for a second.

I hear "Gear Queer" used by the ex-marines I shoot with, there's a few more colorful versions but this is a kids show
