Scope question - how does this compare to other retro colt scopes?

This scope is for sale locally and I just wondered about it compared to say a 3x20 or more standard scope. Is this legit or a well done knock off?
Thanks,
Mike

Knockoff, but what interests me is the 'by C-More' note on the pamphlet. Oh, and why isn't pamphlet spelled pamflet? WTF over?

Seriously though, there are no 'steps' in the body of the scope - first sign of a clone. I'm guessing with the price of real Colt scopes going through the roof (ironic since most were made in Japan) a lot of folks are trying to cash in. Nothing against the seller, since they may not know.

ETA: Oh, and the 'colt' markings are not in the correct spot.

I have never seen one but I heard that C - More did do a run of carry handle scopes back in the late 1980s but I do not remember them being under a Colt contract. Chances are this is a rip off.

3 X Colt scopes are all collectable. The first ones made in the USA are really collectable. 4 X scopes are the less desirable of them all.

Is this the scope that ReconB4 had for sale?

I was more interested in a 3X anyway - but just trying to educate myself. This one is for sale on a local classifieds website here in Utah so not sure on ReconB4.
Thanks for the feedback. Will wait for the right 3X to show up at some point!

I'm glad they don't work worth a darn with my glasses. I can take them off and adjust scope to see but then I can't see anything else.

As time goes by we're all gonna be seeing a lot more of this stuff. Not calling pictured scope a fake but they are definately out there and I see more all the time. If we think about it the days of even building an early clone with all authentic parts is also quickly becoming a thing of the past. Authentic early parts are commanding a premium except in a very few cases/scenerios and in my opinion will continue to increase over time. Unfortunately retroland drive's up the price but also preserves the rare pieces so it's like everything. "When you gain you lose and when you lose you gain."

It's a real Colt made by C-More; there was an illuminated version as well. My brother has one; found one for sale on E-Bay. In addition, there was a red dot "Scout" sight for fixed handle rifles and an "A2" red dot for flat top rifles that were "Colt Optics" marked and came in Colt marked plastic boxes with C-More/Colt literature. There was also a tactical scope that was made by C-More and was Colt marked as well (have one in the basement).

Not my auction.

+1 - I've seen one here in Hawaii too. Friend had it for a number of years. By C-More who seem to have made a number of obscure and not common variations of sights for the ARs.

YMMV

It's legit, I have the exact same scope but not with the colt Logo, Cmore.
very nice for what it is, but be aware eye relief is too short with an A2 stock
and the cam is for M855, not M193. So I'd recommend it for a shorty with a
CAR15 stock, but you'd have the ammo issue, not that the drop out to 300 is that
much different.....

It's to bad C-more no longer make them. It seems like it would sell.
