I never really put much thought into this platform until recently when I was at the range and met a fella who was sporting a 7.5 build. After talking him up and putting 30 rounds down the barrel...I was sold! As luck would have it, I stopped at a local DGS on the way home and guess what the had sitting on the wall? A stripped Spikes pistol lower for a price I couldn't pass up. After a couple of weeks of deciding on what I wanted, and how fast I wanted to get there (being the impatient one that I am) I decided on a complete Spikes 10.5 upper w/10" BAR rail. Throw in a DPMS LPK, a Noveske KX3 Pig and a bunch of Magpul parts including a MS2 sling and the completed build looks something like this.....

Went to the range last night for a function check and all went well. 90 rounds down the pipe, a couple of turns on the front and rear MBUS's, and she was spot on. No FTF/FTE's and accurate. Man I can't wait till WA state gets off their ass and allows SBR's....my $200 is already in the mail. Next up I'm thinking 7.5 9mm, gotta have both right?

Nice, I have a 10.5" 9mm build and it's awesome. 10.5 seems to be the shortest I can go and still comfortably shoot it. How's the muzzle blast? I know 7.5s are borderline ridiculous in that regard.

that looks great. i sold my 7.5 barrel from my pistol cause i'm gonna put a 10.5 in. barel on it. was just too short for my liking. probably gonna go with a heavier round as well. 7.62x39 or 300 blk. the two tone looks pretty sharp. nice build!

Muzzle blast is at a minimum. The KX3 throws the concussion of the short bbl downrange and muzzle flash is only slightly more than my full 16". I'm really digging the compact and lightweight package overall. Can't wait to get some type of optic on it and rock and roll on the reactive steel at my local range.
