7.5" reliability? Thinking about a Pistol!
Hey guys just wanted to see what kind of reliability you are getting out of your 7.5"ers. I think one would be way fun with a Noveske pig at the end. I'm guessing it's just hit or miss. I'm looking at one of the stainless barrels by BD or Del-Ton at JSE supply. Which would be best to try?
Get one from Noveske or Rainier, they always work.
I've got a M1S 7.5" and it runs flawless. It's a great range toy and super fun to shoot.

I'll have to partially agree.

I've had others but the Rainier has been the best barrel I've used. Smaller gas port and reliable from the first shot.

Thank you guys for the help.
I guess stainless is the way to go as well?
I've got a JSE 7.5. Zero problems, lots of smiles.....especially with the 22 conversion in it.
Is yours the stainless or carbon steel?
PWS in 7.62 x 39 runs flawless.
I've got a 7.5"
piston upper that runs like a top.

So it just sits there and spins?
I've got a 7.5 BD barrel from JSE with a flaming pig at the end.
I had issues at first...about 20% failures to extract...
but an extractor upgrade and an H2 buffer and the last few hundred rounds have been flawless using my reloads.
(55gr loaded .3grs off max with Ramshot Xterm)
I rarely shoot factory ammo, so no further comment.
It is a VERY fun range toy...which I occasionally take hiking for wabbits and crows...
Just be aware the KX3 is LONG...in fact a 7.5" with a KX3 is as long as a 10" with an A2.
I have a factory DPMS Kitty Kat upper that runs like a champ. Its their 7.5" A2 upper. I currently have a Smith Vortex FH on it. If I want fireballz, then I take off the Vortex and shoot cheap Wolf ammo. It has functioned with every type of ammo I've put through it.

What buffer do you use?
Do you guys consider these more range toys than heavy duty guns? Wondering if I should go 10.5.

Range toy for me and also home defence because it fits in a drawer. My sbr that I'm building will be 10.5 because I'll run a can on it.
I have a Spike's with a 7.5" SS WL barrel. It has no isses and runs great. I am getting a 10.5" for my M4-2000 can. I really like the Pig, but it is long and I would probably go with a 10.5" or 11" over a 7.5" w/ a Pig- IMO.
I use a Troy Claymore brake on the 7.5" due to its small size and light weight.

IIRC, I used a Model 1 Sales pistol buffer tube with just a regular carbine buffer.
As far as duty gun or range toy - I use mine more for a range toy. With its reliability, I have no qualms about using it for more serious duty, but I have other better tools for that role. If I went the SBR route, it would be a no-brainer.

I also have a DPMS Kitty Kat upper that runs perfectly. My lower is a spikes tactical with spikes pistol buffer tube and ST-T2 buffer.

Range toys. They have extremely limited potential in the real world. A couple of guys have a use for it, and they know how marginal it is.
FWIW the terminal ballistics don't put me off. The muzzle blast and service life issues are the big issues.
My home build (spare parts build) runs great. Ive put about 100 rounds of Wolf 223 through it with zero problems!

Do tell could you please point me in the right direction to this info so that I may be so informed?
I love mine. 7.5" Noveske Diplomat.
The SBR paperwork is in for my stripped Noveske lower so it is only a pistol for a few more months.

Read this it might help a little to understand.

I got it primarily from personal conversations with people in the training community.
OK some more word of mouth.
same old thing.
