 Start of a pistol build

I have been building ARs in any config that I can. Recently my brother mentioned he had one of his barrels cut down that was pinned. He was thinking of a pistol build so I jumped at the chance.

Due to the Palmetto sales, there was a virgin "Multi" marked lower just waiting to be built. At the same time he happened to buy a used 12" Vtac rail. He picked up a Mega upper and we decided the KX3 he had would be perfect for this type of build.

The BCG is a Rguns unit with a upgraded spring swapped in. After reading the Magpul AFG was legal on a pistol, I threw on a section of rail I had left over from my Samson Evo rail. He then picked up a Spike's Pistol buffer kit and threw on a ASP he had laying around.

Spike's ST2 buffer and extra power buffer spring finished it off. He had concerns with the extra power spring and heavier buffer, but with the KX3 on there it even cycled weak Tula ammo without a hickup.

Still needs sights, bit I was able to guestimate at the range today and had no issues with function.

If there was an optic on it, it might work. As it sits now, I just rested my cheek up against the buffer tube to look straight down the flat top and top of the rail to ball park where the bullet would hit. Then as it fired I could control the point of aim better than expected.

Not sure what direction my brother will take, but if it was me, I'd throw a low profile optic and use the asp and a short single point sling pushing it straight out to act as a stabilizer.

I am already mulling over the idea of building one as well just for kicks.

looks pretty cool, but i don't know about the 12 in. tube. seems a bit long for a pistol. i guess you just have more to hang on too out front. kx3 fits in the end of it nice though.
