just took my new pistol out for a spin

jumped into the AR pistol realm with both feet. ordered an upper on sunday, had it in hand thursday (would have been wednesday, but missed the mailman).

not knowing what to expect, as my last 'pistol' upper was an absolute POS (it was by no means a semi auto, liken to a bolt gun with jamming issues). This new one ran great from the word go. the only failure was due to an improperly seated magazine.

I went cheap on this build, so I was very pleasantly surprised. all said and done I'm about $550 into it,

maybe by next range trip I'll get some irons, or a primary arms red dot on it.

and before everybody freaks out, that carbine buffer tube has been all sorts of modified to not accept a stock, the para cord wrap is next though.
sorry for the crappy pic, and lack of hairy toes, I'll do better next time.

I got my pistol 3 weeks ago and its been a blast. I made the mistake of putting a 22 kit in it and I dont know if I
am going to take it out.
Thats a good looking gun.
What length of barrel is that.

You throw some JB weld into the holes I've been wondering what the best way to modify a carbine tube.. Although, as I think about it, I'm going to need to buy a tube for my build anyway, so I might as well pick up a pistol tube.. So far I'm at $85 on my build, just the barrel. LOL..

Got the upper from JSE surplus 7" stainless barrel, M4 cut upper, YHM customizable free float tube, DPMS BCG.

I think they call it special build #14 but they have what appears to be endless builds.

I just got the same upper to go on a PSA lower build with a RRA buffer tube, just havent had time to put it together. I have some MI flip ups on the way. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Looks like it will be a blast to shoot (no pun intended)

Can you put some kind of iron site on the front of the tube or is that tube made for optics only?
Nice build by the way.

Thank you

As its set up now its optics only, YHM offers rail attachments for this tube though. Its pre drilled and tapped for install at 45 degree angles. My plan is to add the carbine rail on top for a normal carbine sight radius, and maybe a couple other rail segments for a AFG, or light.
