Need adivce on an upper...please help

I've just completed my lower (Spikes receiver, Spikes parts kit, RRA buffer tube, Magpul pistol grip, ASAP and trigger guard). I've been looking at this upper on GB (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=235127313), but wanted to see if it's worth buying or if you have any other recommendations. I already have a charging handle and a Spikes BCG, so just need the stripped upper. I would like to stick around $400. Thanks!

The upper you have listed does not come with the bolt but the ones on PK do so take that into consideration when looking at prices. Lower looks good BTW!

Thanks for the link. I already have the charging handle and a Spikes BCG. I really like the 7" RRA and YHM upper. I'll see if they sell it without these parts.

I've never bought a complete upper from JSE Surplus but I have bought other things from them and I was pleased. Here's a link for their 7.5" upper. Remove the charging handle and bolt carrier assembly and you get $330 + shipping. I bought a DPMS 7.5" barrel from them, so I'm assuming their "chromed lined" barrel is DPMS. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've have bought from them in the past. (2) 7" pistol uppers, (1) 18" kit and (1)14.5" kit. All have been quality. A 7" pistol upper minus the BCG and CH runs about 300. Good price in my book.

JSE looks intriguing. I did some research and hadn't read anything negative about them. Based on Defender's link above, I'm thinking about the YHM Phantom 5M2 Compensator and the YHM LW4 Rail. Assembled for $410. I originally wasn't looking for an upper with the front iron sights, but I suppose it looks fine. Plus it would save me from having buy a front flip up sight.

I picked up one of the JSE 7.5" upper recently and am extremely happy. I threw my 36x benchrest sope on it the other day and am having no troubles holding 1-2" groups all day at 100yds. The extraction can be a bear on the AR pistols, so run to your hardware store and pick up a #60 o-ring for the extractor to save some headaches right off the bat.

I'm pretty happy with my JSE upper

Just got my upper in today, so here's the completed project (at least until I get it SBR'd). Still debating whether or not to remove my Eotech from my S&W M&P MOE AR. So should put the Eotech on?

Man, that looks killer..

I've been trying to decide if I want to go with a fixed front sight or flip ups.. This makes me want fixed..

I had the same dilemma myself. Glad I went with fixed. Going to mount my eotech this weekend and take it the range. I'll let you guys o ow how it performed and I'll post some video.

Model 1 Sales sells fully assembled pistol uppers with BCG, LPK, buffer tube and all the good stuff. Perhaps they could deduct the cost for what you already have and then the price would be cut significantly. Model 1 Sales may have a wait, but they are priced right and do have excellent customer support in my opinion.

Now it has a Vortex StrikeFire with a Larue mount and a ARMS rear flip sight. I have a YHM front rail mounted front sight, but you can't see it in this pic:

I printed the logo on paper. Covered a side of the mag with tape, traced the logo on the tape, cut it out, spray painted it and removed the tape.

It would be a lot easier if you go to a local sticker shop (or graphics shop) and they will cut you as many stickers you want. You can use the stickers for whatever you want, but use the outer portion as your stencil for painting.

That's sweet looking. I like the buffer tube...looks like it would be comfortable.
